Dennis Brown
Superintendent of Police
He completed his early education at the Colonel Hill Primary School and the Colonel Hill Central Secondary High School now the Admiral L. Ferguson Senior High School.
In December 1981 he located to New Providence to begin a new chapter in his life. He began his career as a Police Officer on 2 June 1982.
His policing experience- he worked in the following divisions in the Family Island and New Providence: two (2) stints, Berry Island District; Bimini District; Crooked Island, Acklins and Long Cay District; Central Andros District; North Andros District; Inagua District; two (2) stints, Central Division; Sweep Unit; Mobile Division; Southern Division (Quakoo Street) Police Station; two (2) stints, Traffic Division.
He held command in various Family Island District which include: Crooked Island, Acklins and Long Cay District; Central Andros District, both as Sergeant; Inagua District as Inspector/Assistant Superintendent; and Berry Islands which include Chub Cay, as Superintendent.
During his tenure in Inagua District he revived the Inagua Amateur Boxing Club and served as the President and Coach.
He attended numerous courses including Constable Development Course, Corporal Development Course, Sergeant Management Course, Inspector Development Course, Homicide Investigation Course, Narcotic Investigation Course, Criminal Investigation Course, Firearm Course, Defensive Driving Course, and Traffic Pro Lazer/Speed Gun Instructors Course, Jacksonville, Florida.
He is the recipient of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Long Service and Good Conduct (2003), and Meritorious Service (2017). His hobbies include boxing, track and field, and travelling.
