Assistant Commissioner Z. Dames attended the 2024 Annual IACP Communications and Technology Committee meeting, marking my 14th year as a sitting member. The meeting, led by Chairman Craig Allen, included a presentation from the U.S. Department of Justice, an open discussion, and IACP updates.
ACP. Z. Dames provided the international updates, highlighting the RBPF's use of the Fusus platform, which integrates our technologies into a single interface. This allows dispatchers to make fast, evidence-based decisions during incidents, improving overall police efficiency. The committee expressed strong interest in our progress. Additionally ACP. Dames also introduced members of his team—Superintendent Marlon Grant, Inspector Erica Roberts, and Constable Sherman, who were invited to observe.
ACP. Dames informed the committee about the RBPF community outreach efforts encouraging residents to register their CCTV cameras in the Fusus platform, with 951 residents registered to date, a point that was well received.
As a member of the Real-Time Crime Center Subcommittee, ACP. Dames participated in related discussions, and the meeting concluded with closing remarks from the chairman.
Thank you, Commissioner, for allowing my team and me to attend the IACP Conference in Boston.
This experience has further strengthened our knowledge and network within the international policing connections
