NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENT
MEDIA COVERAGE REQUESTED
On Wednesday 27th March, 2024 beginning at 10:00 a.m. the Carmichael Urban Renewal Centre will be conducting an initiative involving the removal of derelict vehicles within the Southern Heights community.
The following Ministers are expected to be in attendance: Hon. Glenys Hanna-Martin, Hon. Keith Belle and Hon. Vaughn Miller.
Media coverage is being requested for this initiative. Additionally, media personnel attending the event is asked to meet at the Carmichael Road Urban Renewal Centre, located in Flamingo Gardens at 9:30 a.m.
STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT
Police seek the public’s assistance in locating the following vehicles that were reported stolen on Tuesday 26th March, 2024:
- A white Nissan Juke L/P #AL5965 – stolen from Robinson Close
- A black 2013 Suzuki Solio L/P #AT5890 – stolen from Grove Close
- A white 2012 Nissan Cube L/P #AQ4019 – stolen from Palm Breeze Drive
- A blue 2017 Kia Rio L/P #AH7178 – stolen from Malawi Street
An investigation is underway into a shooting incident that occurred on Wednesday 27th March, 2024, resulting in a 28-year-old male being injured.
According to preliminary reports, around 11:00 a.m., the victim while in the vicinity of Quarry Mission Road was approached by the occupants of a champagne-colored Japanese vehicle who discharged multiple gunshots in his direction; as result he sustained a superficial injury to his right lower extremity. He was transported to the hospital by a private vehicle for further medical attention.
Police are appealing to anyone with information regarding this latest shooting to please contact 911, 919, or the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991. Anonymous tips are also welcomed through CRIME STOPPERS @ 328-TIPS (8477).

BIMINI: MULTIPLE ARRESTS MADE IN DRUG SEIZURES
On Tuesday 26th March, 2024, joint efforts by the Drug Enforcement Unit and the K-9 Unit resulted in the seizure of suspected drugs and the arrest of four (4) individuals in Bimini.
The first incident occurred around 6:40 a.m., according to reports, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Alice Town, where a quantity of suspected marijuana was found on the property. This discovery led to the arrest of the lone occupant, a 57-year-old male.
In the second incident, officers executed another search warrant at a different residence in Alice Town shortly before 7:00 a.m., where a quantity of suspected marijuana was seized from the property, resulting in the arrest of a 47-year-old male occupant.
The final incident took place at a home in Buccaneers Point around 10:50 a.m. Officers, executed a search warrant and discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana within the premises. This discovery led to the arrest of the two (2) occupants, a 43-year-old female and a 15-year-old male.
The estimated weight and street value of the suspected dangerous drugs are currently unknown.
The Drug Enforcement Unit will continue investigations into this incident.
