NEW PROVIDENCE

MAN ARRESTED IN AMMUNITION SEIZURE

On Friday 08th March, 2024, Mobile Division officers arrested an adult male off Market Street following an ammunition seizure.

Preliminary reports indicate that shortly after 9:00 p.m., officers, acting on information, conducted a search of a male on Windsor Lane. During the search, a quantity of ammunition was found, resulting in the arrest of the 20-year-old.

Investigations are ongoing by the Anti-Gang & Firearm Investigation Task Force.

SHOOTING INCIDENT LEAVES MALE HOSPITALIZED

Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday 09th March, 2024, resulting in a 19-year-old male being hospitalized.

According to initial reports, around 12:30 a.m., the victim was with a group of individuals on a vacant lot in the vicinity of McCollough Corner when an unknown gunman approached and discharged gunshots in their direction before fleeing the area.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds to the upper body and was taken to the hospital by an ambulance for medical care, where he remains in stable condition.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

GRAND BAHAMA: POLICE CONFISCATE LOADED FIREARM

Police in Grand Bahama confiscated a loaded weapon in Hepburn Town on Friday 08th March,2024.

Initial reports indicate that around 2:20 p.m., officers, acting on information, conducted a search of a vacant property. During the search, a firearm containing ammunition was discovered. No arrests were made in connection with this incident.

The Anti-Gang & Firearm Investigation Task Force will conduct further investigations.
