ARRAIGNMENT

Police would like to inform the public that on Monday 04th March, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., the AntiGang and Firearm Investigation Task Force will present a 35-year-old male from Carmichael Road before the Magistrate’s Court with the following firearm-related offences:

  • Importation of a Firearm into the Commonwealth of the Bahamas
  • (3) Counts Importation of Ammunition into the Commonwealth of the Bahamas
  • Conspiracy to Import Firearms into the Commonwealth of the Bahamas
  • (3) Counts Conspiracy to Import Ammunition into the Commonwealth of the Bahamas

This is in connection with a firearm, a large quantity of ammunition, and marijuana that were confiscated by police on Friday 26th January, 2024, on the island of Eleuthera, which resulted in the accused's arrest.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

GRAND BAHAMA: POLICE INVESTIGATE SEXUAL ASSAULT

Police in Grand Bahama have taken a 48-year-old Bulgarian male into custody on Sunday 03rd March, 2024 in connection with an alleged sexual assault incident.

According to reports, the incident occurred onboard a cruise ship between Friday 01st March, 2024, and Saturday 02nd, March, 2024 involving an Albanian female.

Investigations are ongoing into this incident.

GRAND BAHAMA: JOINT OPERATION YIELDS POSITIVE RESULTS

An 18-year-old male from Freeport, Grand Bahama is in police custody after he was found in possession of a quantity of suspected Hydroponic Marijuana.

This incident reportedly occurred on Saturday 02nd March, 2024 at 4:30 p.m.

According to reports, officers attached to the Harbour Police Station and Bahamas Customs Department, with the assistance of Customs K9 acting on information, executed a search of a grocery pallet and discovered a large quantity of compressed marijuana.

The drugs weighed 24 pounds with and estimated street value of $43,000.00. Investigation continues.
