NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENT
Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Monday 19th February, 2024 in the Bain Town area leaving an adult male injured.
Police were alerted around 9:20 p.m. by its Shot Spotter Technology to gunshots emanating in the vicinity of Dunmore Street and West Street.
Responding officers along with EMS personnel arrived to the location, they assessed the victim and determined his injuries were non-life threatening. He was later transported to the hospital by an ambulance for further medical attention.
Initial reports indicate that the victim was walking in the vicinity of West and Dunmore Streets when a black Japanese model vehicle stopped nearby. It is reported that an unknown male exited the vehicle, produced a firearm, and opened fire in his direction before quickly returning to the vehicle and fleeing north along Dunmore Street, making good on his escape.
The Criminal Investigation Department will continue investigations into this matter. Persons with information regarding this incident are encouraged to contact 911, 919, or the Criminal

HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY
Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a teenage male that took place on Monday 19th February,2024.
Preliminary reports indicate that teen male along with his sibling were walking on First Street shortly before 9:00 a.m. when the occupants of a gray vehicle stopped nearby them. It is reported that the assailants of the vehicle opened fire in their direction, resulting in the teen male being shot, while the other was unharmed.
The 15-year-old juvenile male sustained multiple gunshot wounds, he was examined by EMS personnel and they determined that he showed no vital signs of life.

POLICE INVESTIGATE FATAL HIT-AND-RUN ACCIDENT
Police are actively searching for the driver of a dark-colored Suzuki Swift who failed to remain on the scene, following a traffic accident that claimed the life of an adult male.
The traffic incident initially occurred shortly before 7:00 p.m., on Sunday 11th February, 2024.
Initial reports indicate that the victim was walking along the East Street corridor south of the Independence roundabout when he was struck by a dark-colored Suzuki Swift; however, the driver fled the scene.
The male pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he remained. However, on Thursday 15th February, 2024, he succumbed to his injuries while hospitalized.

GRAND BAHAMA: ARRAIGNMENT
Police in Grand Bahama wish to advise the general public that on Tuesday 20th February, 2024, a 37-year-old male will be placed before the Magistrate Court for Murder and Possession of Dangerous Drugs with Intent to Supply.
The initial charge pertains to the homicide of a male, aged 64, which occurred at Oleander Street on Tuesday, January 23rd , 2024.
