NEW PROVIDENCE
AMMUNITION SEIZED, SIX ARRESTED
On Friday, 21st February 2025, sometime around 10:30 a.m., six (6) individuals were arrested following the execution of a search warrant that resulted in the seizure of ammunition.
According to preliminary reports, law enforcement officers from Operation Black Scorpion executed a search warrant at a residence on Lincoln Boulevard. During the search, they discovered a quantity of ammunition, leading to the arrest of six adult males between the ages of 20 and 28. Investigation continues.
Operation Black Scorpion is a collaborative effort involving officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force.
ARMED ROBBERY INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY
On Saturday, 22nd February 2025, police launched an investigation into an alleged armed robbery that occurred shortly before 4:00 a.m. in the area of Miami Street.
According to preliminary reports, the victim was walking towards his home when he was accosted by two (2) unknown males, one armed with a firearm and the other with a sharp object. The culprits stole cash from the victim before fleeing north towards Balfour Avenue. Later, officers acting on information took a 38-year-old male into custody who is assisting with the investigation.

POLICE INVESTIGATE FATAL SHOOTING
Police are currently investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred on Dunmore Street that claimed the life of an adult male.
On Saturday, 22nd February 2025, shortly after 7:30 a.m., Police were alerted of the incident via ShotSpotter Technology, which detected gunshots in the Dunmore Street area. As a result, officers responded and discovered the victim lying on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds about the body.
According to preliminary reports, the victim was outside of a business establishment, sitting in a vehicle, when five (5) males approached, produced firearms and discharged gunshots in his direction. The culprits fled the area heading west on Dunmore Street in a white Japanese model vehicle. Emergency Medical Services personnel visited the scene and examined the victim but found no vital signs of life.
