NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE INVESTIGATE FATAL SHOOTING
An investigation is underway into the fatal shooting of an adult male that occurred on Thursday, 20th February 2025, shortly after 10:30 p.m.
Police were alerted of the incident by ShotSpotter Technology, which detected gunshots on Mantol Street in Montell Heights. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male lying in the street with gunshot injuries. Initial reports suggest that a white Japanese-model vehicle was observed leaving the area in a western direction.
Emergency Medical Services visited the scene but found no vital signs of life.

FIREARM SEIZED, THREE ARRESTED
On Thursday, 20th February 2025, around 8:00 p.m., three individuals were arrested following the seizure of a high-powered weapon and ammunition.
According to preliminary reports, law enforcement officers from Operation Black Scorpion, assisted by the Police Canine Support Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence in Mason Addition. During the search, they discovered a loaded high-powered weapon and ammunition, leading to the arrest of a juvenile male and two women, ages 48 and 32.
Operation Black Scorpion is a collaborative effort involving officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force.

GRAND BAHAMA: TWO ARRESTED IN DRUG SEIZURE
On Thursday, 20th February, 2025, police in Grand Bahama arrested two (2) men at a residence on Alan Circle following the discovery of suspected dangerous drugs.
According to initial reports, Drug Enforcement Unit officers executed a search warrant after 7:00p.m. and found a quantity of suspected hydroponic marijuana. As a result, the two occupants, ages 48 and 33, were arrested.
The suspected drugs have an estimated weight of 12.5 pounds, with an estimated street value of $25,000.00. Investigation continues.
ARRAIGNMENT
The police wish to inform the General Public that on Friday, 21st February, 2025, a 17-year-old male will be placed before the Magistrate Court for Murder.
This is in connection with the shooting of a 23-year-old male that occurred on Friday, 13th September, 2024, in the area of West Street and Dorsette Alley. The victim later succumbed to his injuries on Friday, 4th October, 2024, while hospitalized.
