NEW PROVIDENCE

POLICE INVESTIGATE ROBBERY AT HOME

An investigation has been launched into a robbery that occurred during a break-in on Saturday, 15th February 2025.

Initial reports indicate that shortly after 7:45 a.m., an unknown male forced entry into a home in western New Providence. The culprit restrained the two female occupants and stole a large quantity of cash along with other personal belongings before fleeing the scene.

FIREARM SEIZURE

On Saturday, 15th February 2025, law enforcement officers from Operation Black Scorpion seized a firearm around 6:30 p.m.

Acting on information, officers conducted a search at an off-road area near Shirley Street and Kemp Road, where they discovered the weapon. No arrests were made, investigation continues.

Operation Black Scorpion is a collaborative effort involving officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

The following vehicle was recovered on Saturday, 15th February, 2025:

  1. A white Nissan March L/P #AE7818 – recovered on Allen Drive, off Carmichael Road. It was reported stolen on Thursday, 13th February, 2025, Poet Drive, Sea Beach Estates.

FAMILY ISLANDS

ELEUTHERA: POLICE INVESTIGATE TRAFFIC FATALITY

Police in Eleuthera are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred on Saturday, 15th February, 2025, on Queen’s Highway, off Chris Brown Boulevard.

Sometime around 7:40 p.m., officers responded to reports of a burning vehicle. Upon arrival, they found a green jeep fully engulfed in flames in a bushy area, with a snapped utility pole nearby. After extinguishing the fire, officers discovered a burned body a short distance from the vehicle. A doctor later visited the scene and confirmed the victim’s death.

Investigation continues.
