NEW PROVIDENCE

SOUTHEASTERN DIVISION OFFICERS RECOVERED FIREARM

On Monday, 10th February, 2025, officers from the Southeastern Division confiscated a firearm and arrested two individuals.

According to initial reports, officers executed a search warrant after 2:00 p.m. at a home on Sear Wind Street, off Hawkins Hill. A firearm containing ammunition was found, which led to the arrest of the two occupants, a 48-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

The vehicle listed below was recovered on Monday, 10th February, 2025:

  1. A silver 2017 Nissan Note L/P #AX3137 – recovered on Jumbay Drive. It had been reported stolen on Saturday, 8th February, 2025, from Hibiscus Way, Garden Hills #1.

POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENT

Police are investigating a shooting incident allegedly involving public service drivers that occurred on Tuesday, 11th February, 2025, on Yamacraw Hill Road.

Preliminary reports indicate that after 8:30 a.m., an altercation broke out between the drivers of two public buses, during which a firearm was discharged. Fortunately, no passengers were injured.

As investigation continues, police are working together with the Ministry of Energy and Transportation to bring closure to this matter.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

ABACO: POLICE INVESTIGATE SUICIDE ATTEMPT

On Monday, 10th February, police in Abaco launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding an alleged suicide attempt on Guana Cay.

Officers were alerted to the incident around 9:45 a.m. According to preliminary reports, an adult male allegedly consumed a large quantity of medication. He was assisted by police for medical evaluation. Investigation continues.
