NEW PROVIDENCE

POLICE INVESTIGATE SUSPICIOUS DEATH

Police are investigating the suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery of a lifeless adult Cuban national on Saturday, 8th February 2025.

Initial reports indicate that after 4:00 p.m., the male was found unresponsive with injuries at a home on Willet Street, Eastern Estates. Emergency Medical Services visited the scene but did not find any vital signs of life. Investigation continues.

MAN ARRESTED IN STABBING INCIDENT

Police are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred at a residence on Cowpen Road on Saturday, 8th February 2025, after 4:00 p.m.

According to preliminary reports, two men got into a verbal altercation, which turned physical, resulting in one of the men being stabbed in the abdomen. Emergency Medical Services attended the scene and transported the victim to the hospital, where he is listed in serious condition. A 29-year-old man was arrested on the scene and is assisting with the investigation.

FIREARM AND AMMUNITION REMOVED FROM THE STREETS

In two (2) separate incidents, acting on information received, law enforcement officers seized a firearm and ammunition.

The first incident occurred on Saturday, 8th February, 2025, around 1:00 p.m. in Nassau Village. Officers conducted a search of a bushy area on Stack Avenue and discovered a quantity of ammunition. No arrests were made as investigation continues.

The second incident took place in Coconut Grove before 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, 9th February, 2025. Officers carried out a searched of an abandoned building on Acklins Street and discovered a loaded firearm. No arrests were made as investigation continues.

Operation Black Scorpion is a collaborative effort involving officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force.

RECOVERED & STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

Recovered

The following vehicles were recovered on Saturday, 8th February, 2025:

  1. A silver Nissan Tiida L/P #AH9452 – recovered from Joan’s Heights. It was reported stolen on Wednesday, 22nd January 2025, from Plantville Close.
  2. A burgundy Nissan Cube L/P #AS5034 – recovered from Munnings Drive. It was reported stolen from St. Albans Drive on Saturday, 8th February 2025.

Police seek the public’s assistance in locating the following vehicles that were reported stolen on Saturday, 8th February 2025:

  1. A silver 2017 Nissan Note L/P #AX3137 – stolen from Hibiscus Way, Garden Hills #1.
  2. A grey 2013 Nissan Note L/P #DB1248 – stolen from Hibiscus Lane off Malcolm Road.
