NEW PROVIDENCE
ARMED ROBBERY INVESTIGATIONS UNDERWAY
Police are actively investigating two separate reports of alleged armed robberies that occurred on Thursday, 6th February 2025.
The first incident occurred after 1:00 p.m. in front of a business establishment on East Street near Wulff Road. Preliminary information suggests that a male, allegedly armed with a sharp object, confronted the victim and stole her personal belongings before fleeing the scene east on Wulff Road.
The second incident occurred on the exterior of a residence on Graham Drive just before 10:00 p.m. According to initial reports, the victim was returning to her vehicle, a brown Nissan Cube L/P #AS5067, when she was accosted by two (2) unknown males clad in dark clothing and one allegedly armed with a firearm. The culprits stole her vehicle and fled, travelling east on Graham Drive.
POLICE INVESTIGATE ATTEMPTED SUICIDE
An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding an alleged suicide attempt that occurred on Thursday, 6th February, 2025, before 9:00 p.m.
Officers arrived at a residence on Hunts Close, where they discovered a juvenile female with injuries. Initial reports indicate that she allegedly inflicted the injuries upon herself using a sharp object. She was transported to the hospital for medical attention and further evaluation.
POLICE SEIZED FIREARM & AMMUNITION, SUSPECT IN CUSTODY
On Thursday, 6th February, 2025, Officers from Tourism Police Station confiscated a firearm and arrested a 19-year-old man in the area of East Street and Prison Lane.
According to preliminary reports, patrolling officers conducted a routine search of a male pedestrian, which led to the discovery of a firearm containing ammunition. Furthermore, officers executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence, where additional ammunition were discovered. Investigation continues.
RECOVERED & STOLEN VEHICLES ALERT

The following vehicle was recovered on Thursday, 6th February, 2025:
- A black 2013 Nissan Note – recovered in Yellow Elder Gardens.
Police seek the public’s assistance in locating the following vehicles that were reported stolen on Thursday, 6th February, 2025:
- A white 2017 Nissan Cube L/P #DA9661 – stolen in Sunset Meadows off Cowpen Road.
- A black 2015 Nissan Note – stolen from Bernard Road.
- A silver 2018 Nissan Note L/P #DA4091 – stolen from off Bacardi Road.
UPDATE - VICTIM SUCCUMBED IN SHOOTING INCIDENT
Police wish to inform the public that on Friday, 07th February 2025, the 34-year-old male, who was hospitalized, succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased is a victim of a shooting incident that occurred sometime around 10:30 a.m. on East Street South, near Malcolm Road, on Sunday, 2nd February 2025.
ADVISORY: STOLEN VEHICLES
The Royal Bahamas Police Force wishes to alert members of the public to an increase in stolen vehicle incidents, particularly involving Japanese-model vehicles with push-start ignition systems. Criminals are now using advanced computer devices to reprogram vehicle systems, allowing them to bypass security features and steal vehicles easily.
Vehicle owners are urged to take proactive security measures to reduce the risk of theft. Recommended precautions include:
- Installing car alarms, steering wheel locks, GPS tracking systems, and kill switches to deter criminals and aid in vehicle recovery.
- Avoid parking in dark or poorly lit areas, especially at night.
- Remain vigilant and ensure that doors are locked.
The Royal Bahamas Police Force remains committed to combatting vehicle theft and urges the public to report any suspicious activity immediately.
NORTHERN BAHAMAS
ABACO: POLICE INVESTIGATE HUMAN SMUGGLING
Police in Abaco conducted a joint operation on Thursday, 6th February 2025, resulting in the arrests of several Bahamians and the detention of a group of undocumented immigrants.
Between 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force, the Royal Bahamas Defense Force, and The Bahamas Immigration Department carried out an operation in Mount Hope. Preliminary reports indicate that officers acting on information, arrested five Bahamians – ages 42, 37, 29, 30, and 18 – on suspicion of human smuggling.
Additionally, immigration officers detained eight (8) undocumented males: four (4) Chinese, three (3) Indians, and one (1) of unknown nationality. Investigations are ongoing.
ABACO: POLICE SEIZED AMMUNITION
On Friday, 7th February 2025, police in Abaco arrested a 29-year-old male visitor from the United States of America following the seizure of ammunition.
Preliminary reports indicate that shortly after 10:00 a.m., officers responded to an airport, where a search of a piece of luggage was conducted, leading to the discovery of a quantity of ammunition. The individual was taken into custody and is assisting with the investigation.
