NEW PROVIDENCE

POLICE SEIZE AMMUNITION AND DANGEROUS DRUGS: MALE ARRESTED

Police arrested an adult male on Saturday 10th February, 2024, following a large seizure of ammunition and suspected dangerous drugs.

According to reports around 5:30 p.m., officers from the Southwestern Division and K-9 Unit, acting on information, executed a search warrant on a residence in the area of Dignity Gardens, where the following were discovered and seized: an assortment of ammunition along with suspected marijuana, suspected cocaine, and suspected ecstasy pills. Officers took the sole occupant of the home, a 35-year-old male, into custody.

The estimated weight and street value of the suspected dangerous drugs are unknown. Investigations continue.

POLICE INVESTIGATE ARMED ROBBERY

Police are searching for two (2) male suspects in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Saturday 10th February, 2024, in the Coconut Grove community.

Preliminary reports indicate that shortly after 7:00 p.m., two (2) unknown males entered a store located in the vicinity of Crooked Island Street. It is reported that one of them brandished a firearm as they held the staff at bay and stole a large sum of cash belonging to the business before fleeing the scene.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

BIMINI: MALE ARRESTED FOR DRUG POSSESSION

Police in Bimini confiscated a quantity of suspected dangerous drugs around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday 10th February, 2024.

Preliminary reports indicate that during routine mobile patrols in Alice Town, officers’ performed a standard vehicle stop-and-search and discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana in the vehicle, leading to the arrest of the sole occupant, a 43-year-old male.

The weight and street value of the suspected marijuana have not been determined. Investigations are still ongoing.

TWO MALES ARRESTED: DANGEROUS DRUGS CONFISCATED: GRAND BAHAMA

Police in Grand Bahama confiscated a quantity of suspected marijuana on Friday 09th February, 2024, around 8:20 p.m.

Preliminary reports revealed that officers from the Central Division were conducting mobile patrols when they observed two (2) males, one of whom was carrying a backpack and acting suspiciously. Upon seeing the officers, they fled into nearby bushes, abandoning the backpack. A search of the backpack revealed a quantity of suspected marijuana.

The estimated weight and street value of the suspected marijuana is unknown. Investigations continue.

ABACO: DRUGS CONFISCATED IN TWO SEPARATE INCIDENTS

Police in Abaco seized a quantity of suspected marijuana, during two separate incidents, on Friday 09th February, 2024.

In the first incident, which occurred around 1:45 p.m., officers attached to the Marsh Harbour Police Station while in the area of Murphy Town, Abaco arrested two (2) adult males aged 42 and 30 where a quantity of suspected marijuana was discovered.

The estimated weight and street value of the suspected marijuana are currently unknown.

In the final incident, around 9:30 p.m. officers from the Marsh Harbour Police Station acting on intelligence, conducted a search of a bushy area in Murphy Town where they discovered and confiscated another quantity of suspected marijuana.

The suspected marijuana weighed one (1) pound, valued at $1,000.00. Investigation continues.
