NEW PROVIDENCE

STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

Police seek the public’s assistance in locating the following vehicles that were reported stolen on Tuesday, 28th January 2025:

  1. A 2012 Nissan Cube L/P #AX2437 – stolen from Poet Drive, Sea Beach Estates.
  2. A white 2016 Nissan Note L/P #AF0549 – stolen from Sunset Meadows, off Carmichael Road.
  3. A black 2014 Nissan Cube – stolen from Baillou Hill Road & Martin Street.
  4. A gray 2015 Nissan Cube – stolen from Baillou Hill Road & Martin Street.

If you have any information about these thefts or spot these vehicles, please contact 911, 919, the nearest police station or the Criminal Investigation Department @ 502-9991. Furthermore, anonymous tips are encouraged and can be submitted to CRIME STOPPERS @ 328-TIPS (8477).

ADVISORY: ROAD CLOSURE FOR JUNIOR JUNKANOO PARADE

The Royal Bahamas Police Force Traffic Division wishes to inform the general public of temporary road closures on Thursday, 30th January 2025, to facilitate the “Junior Junkanoo Parade” commencing at 6:00 p.m.

ROAD CLOSURE:

From 4:00 p.m. until the conclusion of the parade, the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic:

  • Bay Street, between Navy Lyon Road and Elizabeth Avenue - BOTH SIDES
  • Parliament Street, between East Hill and Bay Streets - BOTH SIDES
  • Frederick Street, between East Hill and Bay Streets - BOTH SIDES
  • Charlotte Street, between Woodes Rodgers Wharf and Shirley Street - BOTH SIDES
  • East Street, between Shirley and Bay Streets - BOTH SIDES

TRAFFIC DIVERSION:

Vehicles traveling westbound on Shirley Street will be diverted south onto Collins Avenue.

Vehicles traveling northbound on Baillou Hill Road will be diverted west on Marlborough Street.

Vehicles traveling northbound on Nassau Street will be diverted west onto West Bay Street.

NO PARKING:

Starting from 4:00 p.m. until the conclusion of the parade NO VEHICLES will be permitted to park on the following streets:

  • Bay Street, between Navy Lyon Road and Victoria Avenue - BOTH SIDES
  • Navy Lyon Road
  • Shirley Street between Frederick Street and Collins Avenue - BOTH SIDES
  • Frederick Street between Shirley Street and Woodes Rodgers Wharf- BOTH SIDES
  • Charlotte Street between Woodes Rodgers Wharf and Shirley Street- BOTH SIDES
  • Parliament Street between Woodes Rodgers Wharf and East Hill Street- BOTH SIDES
