NEW PROVIDENCE

POLICE INVESTIGATE TRAFFIC FATALITY

Traffic Division officers are investigating a traffic accident that claimed the life of a male motorist early Tuesday morning, 28th January 2025.

The incident occurred shortly before 4:00 a.m. on East Street South, near Sapodilla Boulevard, and involved a Mack truck and a silver Nissan Teana. The male driver of the Teana succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Investigations continue.

MAN ARRESTED FOR FIREARM POSSESSION

On Monday, 27th January 2025, officers from the Northeastern Division confiscated a high-powered weapon and arrested a 36-year-old man. According to initial reports, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Apache Alley, off Kemp Road, shortly after 5:30 a.m., where they discovered a firearm containing ammunition. The lone male occupant was taken into custody and is assisting with the investigation.

STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

Police seek the public’s assistance in locating the following vehicles that were reported stolen on Monday, 27th January, 2025:

  • A black Kia Sportage L/P #AP9300 – stolen from Alcuin Lane.
  • A silver 2008 Nissan Bluebird L/P #AE0080 – stolen from Sunset Meadows, off Carmichael Road.
  • A white 2014 Nissan Cube L/P #DB0229 – stolen from Seabreeze Lane.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

GRAND BAHAMA: FIREARM CONFISCATED, THREE ARRESTED

On Monday, 27th January, 2025, police in Grand Bahama have launched an investigation following the arrest of three (3) American men in Bottle Bay, West End.

Preliminary reports indicate that after 3:00 p.m., during a joint operation, officers took the men into custody for multiple breaches under the Fisheries Act. Additionally, a firearm, a quantity of ammunition and a prohibited weapon were also confiscated.

The operation included the Royal Bahamas Police Force, Royal Bahamas Defense Force, the Bahamas Customs Department, and the Department of Marine Resources, who are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
