NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE INVESTIGATE ARMED ROBBERIES
Investigations are underway into two (2) separate alleged armed robberies that occurred in the vicinity of Mackey Street and Madeira Street on Sunday, 26th January, 2025.
The first incident took place before 12:00 p.m. According to initial reports, the victim was seated in a silver 2010 Hyundai Tucson outside a business establishment when two (2) males on a motorbike approached. One of the suspects entered the jeep, allegedly armed with a firearm, and ordered the victim to leave the vehicle before fleeing in the vehicle, followed by the second suspect on the motorbike. Police later recovered the stolen vehicle on Second Street, Coconut Grove.
The second incident occurred after 7:00 p.m. and involved a similar scenario. According to preliminary reports, the victim was seated in a black Nissan Cube L/P #AK3650 when two (2) males on a motorbike approached. One suspect entered the car, allegedly armed with a firearm, and ordered the victim to exit before fleeing the scene, followed by the second suspect on the motorbike.
The vehicle left the scene traveling onto Mackey Street, then turning east onto Hillside Street.
POLICE RECOVERED FIREARM
On Monday 27th January, 2025, after 2:00 a.m., police recovered a firearm in the vicinity of East Street South and Sea Link Drive.
Initial reports indicate that officers attempted to stop a male motorcyclist for a routine check when he refused to comply, leading to a brief pursuit. During the chase, the individual discarded an object, which was later identified as a firearm. The suspect managed to evade being arrested. Investigation continues.

ABACO: STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT
Police in Abaco seek the public’s assistance in locating the following vehicle that was reported stolen on Sunday, 26th January, 2025:
- A black 2012 Honda Civic – stolen from George Albury Boulevard.

FAMILY ISLANDS
ELEUTHERA: POLICE SEARCH FOR MISSING DIVER
Police in Eleuthera are searching for a 69-year-old female American resident who went missing in waters off Cape Eleuthera on Monday, 27th January, 2025.
Preliminary reports indicate that sometime around 8:30 a.m. the woman who was a part of a diving excursion failed to resurface. As a result, search efforts were carried out but proved fruitless thus far. However, rescue operations remain ongoing.
ELEUTHERA: STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED
On Monday, 27th January, 2025, police in Eleuthera recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested three (3) men in Bannerman Town.
According to initials reports, officers conducted a routine traffic stop shortly after 8:00 a.m., during which they recovered a silver 2013 Nissan Note. The three male occupants, aged 31, 30, and 20, were taken into custody for further investigations. The vehicle was reported stolen from Mackey Street, New Providence, on Saturday, 11th January, 2025.
