NEW PROVIDENCE

POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENT

An adult male has been hospitalized on Saturday, 18th January 2025, following a shooting incident involving a male suspect.

According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred after 9:00 p.m., outside a business establishment on Baillou Hill Road near Moonshine Drive. The victim, aged 31, and the suspect were engaged in an argument that escalated. During the confrontation, it was reported that the victim produced a knife, and the suspect produced a firearm. The suspect then discharged several shots at the victim before fleeing the scene.

The victim sustained gunshot injuries to his face and lower body. He was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle and is listed in serious condition.

Police are following significant leads into this matter as the investigation continues.

RECOVERED & STOLEN VEHICLES ALERT

Recovered

The following vehicles were recovered on Saturday, 18th January 2025:

  1. A black Nissan Note L/P #DA1740– recovered from Acklins Street.
  2. A red 2010 Nissan Cube L/P #AU6433 – recovered from Sandilands Village Road, off Fox Hill Road. It was reported stolen from Soldier Road on Saturday, 18th January 2025.
  3. A tan 2013 Chevrolet Cruze L/P #DB2925 – recovered from Soldier Road. It was reported stolen from Crow Close in Monastery Park.

Stolen Police seek the public’s assistance in locating the following vehicles that were reported stolen on Saturday, 18th January, 2025:

  1. A black 2014 Nissan Note L/P #DB5520 – stolen from Carmen Lane, off Malcolm Road.
  2. A burgundy 2013 Nissan Cube L/P #AZ4572 – stolen from Mermaid Boulevard, off Carmichael Road.
  3. A gray 2016 Nissan Note L/P #DB5811 – stolen from Blue Hill Estates.
