STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

Police seek the public’s assistance in locating the following vehicles that were reported stolen on Wednesday, 1st January 2025:

  • 1. A grey 2013 Nissan Cube L/P #DA7279 – stolen from Opulent Drive, off Carmichael Road.
  • 2. A black Nissan Cube L/P #AX4535 – stolen from St. Albans Drive, off West Bay Street.

GRAND BAHAMA: JOINT OPERATION LEADS TO MAJOR DRUG BUST

On Wednesday, 1st January 2025, police in Grand Bahama conducted a joint operation with the Bahamas Customs Department and U.S. Counterparts, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of suspected dangerous drugs.

According to the initial report, sometime around 1:30 p.m., the team searched a container at a local port and discovered a substantial amount of suspected cocaine. No arrests were made in this discovery. Investigation continues.

The suspected drugs total 498 packages with an estimated weight of 1,277 lbs. The estimated street value is $9, 960,000.00.

GRAND BAHAMA: POLICE INVESTIGATE TRAFFIC FATALITY Grand Bahama police are investigating a traffic fatality that occurred on Wednesday, 1st January, 2025, around 6:10 p.m. on Queens Highway.

The accident involved three vehicles: a white Nissan Cube driven east by an adult female with her infant child; a Nissan Fuga driven west by an adult male with two adult female passengers; and a grey Nissan Cube driven east by an adult male. The vehicles collided, resulting in one of them engulfing in flames. As a result, the Fire Services responded and extinguished the blaze.

All occupants sustained injuries and were transported by ambulance for medical treatment. Despite medical efforts, the infant male later succumbed to injuries at a local clinic, while the other victims remained in stable condition at the hospital. Investigation continues.

GRAND BAHAMA: POLICE INVESTIGATE ATTEMPTED SUICIDE

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating a suicide attempt in South Bahamia that occurred on Wednesday, 1st January 2025, involving an adult female.

Police were alerted of the incident shortly before 5:00 p.m. Initial reports indicate that family members reported that they discovered the victim unconscious at her residence, suffering from what appeared to be a self-inflicted injury. It is further reported that the victim, a 21-year-old female, allegedly consumed a quantity of alcohol and various over-the-counter medications.

The victim was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle, where she is listed in serious condition. Investigation continues.
