NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE LAUNCH INVESTIGATION INTO FATAL SHOOTING
An investigation is currently underway following the fatal shooting of a man on Wednesday 6th November, 2024
According to preliminary reports, shortly before 10:00 a.m. police responded to reports of gunshots being discharged on Finlayson Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male through a track road with multiple gunshot injuries.
It is reported that the victim was on Boulder Street, off Finlayson Street when the incident occurred. At present the circumstances surrounding this incident are unknown; however, police are actively investigating and appealing to members of the public to come forward with any information related to this matter.
NORTHERN BAHAMAS
GRAND BAHAMA: POLICE SEIZE OVER $10K IN SUSPECTED DRUGS
Police in Grand Bahama successfully seized a large quantity of suspected drugs on Tuesday 5th November, 2024, around 6:00 p.m.
Initial reports indicate that officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on information received, searched a bushy area on Andros Drive, where they found packages of suspected marijuana. No arrests were made.
The suspected drugs are estimated to weigh 10.5 pounds, with an estimated street value of $10,500.00. Investigations are ongoing.
ROAD CLOSURE
Police in Grand Bahama wish inform the public that on Friday 8th November, 2024, between 7:00p.m. and 11:00 p.m. the following roadways will be closed for Cancer Rush on Explorers Way:
- Intersection of Explorers Way and Woodstock Street heading west.
- Intersection of Explorers Way and Kent Street heading east.

GRAND BAHAMA: POLICE INVESTIGATE SUSPECTED SUICIDE
Police on the island of Grand Bahama are investigating the suspected suicide of a 28-year-old male of Jones Town, who was reported missing on Tuesday 5th November, 2024.
According to initial reports, sometime around 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday 6th November, 2024 the victim was discovered hanging from a wire inside an abandoned building on Queens Highway.
Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene but found no signs of life.
Police are actively investigating this incident and are appealing to members of the public to become familiar with the warning signs of Suicide which include: mood swings, dangerous risks being taken, eating/sleeping less or withdrawal from friends, and to seek assistance from agencies such the Community Counseling & Assessment Centre & Social Services.
