NEW PROVIDENCE
OPERATION CEASEFIRE SEIZE DRUGS AND AMMUNITION
On Sunday 03rd November, 2024, several individuals were arrested at a residence following the confiscation of suspected drugs and ammunition.
According to preliminary reports shortly before 3:00 p.m., Operation Ceasefire officers executed a search warrant at a home on Sunrise Way, off Gladstone Road. During the search, officers discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana and a large quantity of ammunition. As a result, five (5) adults were arrested: a 31-year-old male, a 28-year-old male, a 27-year-old male, a 49-year-old female, and a 26-year-old female.
Operation Ceasefire is a collaborative effort involving officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force.
The suspected marijuana has an estimated weight of 2.5 pounds, with an estimated street value of $2,500.00.
Investigations are ongoing.
WOMAN HOSPITALIZED AND MAN ARRESTED IN STABBING INCIDENT
A 34-year-old male is in custody following a stabbing incident on Monday 04th November, 2024, at a hotel on West Bay Street.
According to preliminary reports, a 25-year-old female employee was stabbed by a known male after 8:15 a.m. The suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended and subdued until police arrived and arrested him.
The victim sustained several stab wounds and was transported to the hospital where she is listed in serious condition.
POLICE INVESTIGATE ATTEMPTED SUICIDE
On Monday 04th November, 2024, an investigation has been launched into a suicide attempt involving a 38-year-old man off Lady Slipper Avenue.
Initial reports indicate that before 7:00 a.m., family members found the victim hanging from a cord inside a home on Pink Cassia Avenue and quickly cut him down.
He was transported to the hospital in an ambulance for further medical attention and evaluation.1

EXUMA: POLICE INVESTIGATE TRAFFIC FATALITY
Police in Exuma are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred before 3:00 p.m. on Sunday 3rd November, 2024, claiming the life of a male driver.
Initial reports indicate that the accident took place on Queens Highway in Bahama Sound and involved two (2) vehicles: a navy blue Dodge Caravan with a single male occupant and a white Nissan Note with two (2) male occupants. Both vehicles were traveling east when the driver of the Note attempted to overtake the Caravan, resulting in a collision that injured the occupants of the Note.
Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and were unable to find any vital life signs from the 52-year-old driver. The injured passenger was taken to the clinic for medical treatment.
The driver of the Caravan is assisting the police as investigations continue into this matter.
