NEW PROVIDENCE

OPERATION CEASEFIRE: FIREARM & AMMUNITION SEIZED, THREE ARRESTED

Operation Ceasefire officers seized a firearm and ammunition in two (2) separate incidents, one of which led to the arrest of three (3) individuals.

The first incident took place after 7:00 p.m. on Saturday 2nd November, 2024, at a home on Colleton Street in Ridgeland Park.

Initial reports indicate that officers executed a search warrant at the residence and confiscated a loaded firearm, leading to the arrest of the three (3) occupants: a 55-year-old man, a 22-year-old man, and a 24-year-old woman.

The second incident happened shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Sunday 03rd November, 2024, off East Street.

Preliminary reports indicate that officers, acting on information, searched inside a derelict vehicle on Sunlight Cottage and discovered a quantity of ammunition. No arrests were made.

Operation Ceasefire is a collaborative effort involving officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force.

POLICE QUESTION MALE REFERENCE TO SEXUAL ASSAULT

Police are questioning a 20 year old male of Fire Trail Road in connection with an alleged sexual assault.

The incident reportedly occurred shortly after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday 02nd November, 2024, at a beach off New Providence, and involved a 20-year-old female. Police investigations continue.

POLICE INVESTIGATE SUICIDE ATTEMPT

An investigation is underway into an alleged suicide attempt of a 31-year-old woman at a home on Saturday 2nd November, 2024, after 5:00 p.m.

According to initial reports, the victim was found incoherent at a residence on Pepper Close in Eastwood Estates after ingesting a quantity of over-the-counter pills.

The victim was taken to the hospital in an ambulance for further medical attention and evaluation.

HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a lifeless adult male on Sunday 3rd November, 2024, on Carmichael Road.

Initial reports indicate that shortly before 8:00 a.m., an unresponsive male, with visible gunshot injuries, was found near Unison Road.

Emergency Medical Services visited the scene but were unable to detect any vital life signs. Details surrounding this incident are unclear, but the police investigation is ongoing. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

GRAND BAHAMA: MAN ARRESTED FOR FIREARM POSSESSION

Police in Grand Bahama arrested a 36-year-old male and seized a firearm on Saturday 2nd November, 2024, around 10:30 p.m.

According to preliminary reports, officers from Operation Falcon Claw conducted a stop-and search of a male pedestrian while on Polaris Drive. A firearm containing ammunition was seized from him, resulting in his arrest.
