NEW PROVIDENCE

ARMED ROBBERY INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY

Police have launched an investigation into an armed robbery incident that occurred on Thursday 24th October, 2024, on Victoria Avenue.

According to preliminary reports, around 2:00 p.m., the female victim was walking on Victoria Avenue when a male exited a black Japanese vehicle, brandished an unidentified object, and demanded her handbag. Upon her refusal, she was physically assaulted and robbed of her handbag, which contained a large sum of cash.

THREE MALES ARRESTED FOR STOLEN VEHICLE

Police arrested three (3) males off Cowpen Road on Thursday 24th October, 2024, and recovered a stolen vehicle.

According to initial reports, officers, acting on information, arrived off Cowpen Road around 5:00 p.m., where they observed the males removing parts from a gray Honda Fit that was reportedly stolen; subsequently, the three (3) males, aged 19, 17, and 16, were taken into custody.

Investigations are ongoing into this matter.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

GRAND BAHAMA: ADULT MALE ARRESTED IN FIREARM CONFISCATION

Police in Grand Bahama arrested a 50-year-old male after confiscating an unlicensed firearm on Thursday 24th October, 2024.

Initial reports indicate that around 5:30 a.m., a team of officers acting on information proceeded to the 50-year-old residence in Hunters, where he was observed discarding an object into the adjacent bushes. The individual was detained, and with the aid of a police canine, the officers recovered the discarded object, which was identified as an illegal firearm, leading to his subsequent arrest.

Investigations are ongoing.

HOMICIDE VICTIM IDENTIFIED

Police wish to inform members of the public that the adult male who was fatally shot on Thursday 24th October, 2024, on Ramsey Street off Carmichael Road has been positively identified as 55- year-old Lenroy Rolle of Carmichael Road.

POLICE INVESTIGATE ARMED ROBBERY

Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Friday 25th October, 2024, at a business establishment situated on Carmichael Road.

Initial reports indicate that around 9:00 a.m. a masked male entered the establishment, and confronted an employee with an unidentified object, subsequently robbing the establishment of an undisclosed amount of cash.
