NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE SEIZED FOUND DRUGS
Officers from Operation Ceasefire, comprising of the police and the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, seized 12 pounds of suspected marijuana valued at $12,000.00 on Wednesday 23rd October, 2024.
Initial reports indicate that around 7:00 p.m., officers, acting on information, searched an overgrown area near an unpaved footpath off Martins Close-Cowpen Road, where they discovered and confiscated the drugs. There were no arrests made in connection with this discovery.

POLICE INVESTIGATES ALLEGED SEXUAL ASSAULT
An investigation is underway into an alleged sexual assault that was reported by a 33-year-old female on Wednesday 23rd October, 2024.
A member of the Royal Bahamas Police Force is being questioned in connection with this complaint.
Investigations are ongoing.

CORRECTIONAL OFFICER & ADULT FEMALE ARRESTED IN DRUG SEIZURE
A 22-year-old male officer from the Bahamas Department of Corrections Services (B.D.O.C.S) and a 19-year-old female was arrested on Wednesday 23rd October, 2024, after police seized a quantity of suspected dangerous drugs from a residence off Harold Road.
Preliminary reports indicate that around 10:30 p.m., officers from the Central Intelligence Bureau and Operation Ceasefire, including the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, executed a search warrant at a home on Theodora Lane, where they discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana edibles and other drug paraphernalia, leading to the arrest of the B.D.O.C.S. officer and the adult female.
The estimated weight and street value of the suspected drugs is currently unknown. Investigations are ongoing.
POLICE ARRESTED TWO ADULTS FOR SUSPECTED DRUGS
The Anti-Gang & Firearms Investigation Taskforce arrested a 29-year-old female and a 34-year- old male after seizing a large amount of suspected drugs from an apartment complex on Carmichael Road west.
Preliminary reports indicate that shortly before 3:00 a.m. on Thursday 24th October, 2024, officers executed a search warrant at two units of a triplex apartment. In unit one, an adult female was arrested after a quantity of suspected cocaine and marijuana was discovered. In unit two, an adult male was arrested following the discovery of a quantity of suspected marijuana in his apartment.
Investigations are ongoing.
ADULT MALE DIED FOLLOWING AN INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT
A 50-year-old male has died following an industrial accident at a property in High Point Estates, off Theodora Lane on Thursday 24th October, 2024.
Based on initial reports, around 10:00 a.m., the adult male reportedly fell from a makeshift scaffold while working on a two-story structure under construction.
EMS personnel responded to the scene and examined the victim; however, he showed no vital signs of life and was presumed deceased.
POLICE INVESTIGATE HOMICIDE
Police are investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred on Thursday 24th October, 2024, that claimed the life of an adult male believed to be in his 50s.
Preliminary reports indicate that shortly before noon, ShotSpotter technology alerted police to gunfire near Ramsey Street off Carmichael Road. Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive male, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency Medical Services personnel examined the victim but were unable to detect any vital signs of life. Initial findings indicate that the deceased was approached at his place of employment, an auto repair facility, by a lone gunman who exited a dark-colored vehicle and fired multiple shots at him before returning to the vehicle and fleeing the scene.
