RECOVERED & STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

Recovered

Police successfully recovered a white 2001 Toyota Windom L/P #AU4680 on Sunday 20th October, 2024 from Abundant Life Drive after it had been reported stolen earlier that day.

Stolen

Police seek the public’s assistance in finding a white 2007 Subaru Impreza L/P #AS1327 that was reported stolen on Sunday 20th October, 2024 from a residence on Carnation Lane in Garden Hills #1.

POLICE INVESTIGATE SEXUAL ASSAULT

Police are investigating a sexual assault complaint reported by a 44-year-old female that occurred at a residence on Armbrister Street in Fox Hill on Sunday 20th October, 2024.

Preliminary reports indicate that around 2:00 a.m., the victim was awoken by a known adult male who allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Police are following significant leads in this matter as investigations continue.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

GRAND BAHAMA: FOUR MEN ARRESTED AFTER FIREARM CONFISCATION

Police in Grand Bahama arrested four (4) males on Sunday 20th October, 2024, after confiscating an unlicensed firearm.

According to reports, officers from Operation Falcon Claw conducted a routine vehicle stop-and- search on Cedar Street shortly after 9:00 p.m., where during the search, a firearm containing ammunition was found in the vehicle, resulting in the arrests of the four occupants, aged 21, 21, 20, and 18.

Investigations are ongoing.

GRAND BAHAMA: DRUG ARREST

Police in Grand Bahama seized a quantity of suspected drugs and arrested a 46-year-old male on Sunday 20th October, 2024.

Preliminary reports indicate that around 9:00 p.m., Northeastern Division officers executed a search warrant at home on Nelson Road, where they found a large quantity of suspected marijuana, leading to the arrest of the sole male occupant.

The estimated weight and street value of the suspected marijuana is currently unknown.

Investigations continue.

COURT ARRAIGNMENT

Police wishes to advise the general public that on Monday 21st October, 2024, eight (8) adult males will be placed before the Magistrate Court charged with breaches against the statute laws of the Bahamas.

  1. Two (2) males aged 23 and 24, will be arraigned together in connection with Armed Robbery incident that occurred on Monday 30th September, 2024, on West Bay Street.
  2. A 28-year-old male will be arraigned in connection with an Assault with a Deadly Weapon incident that occurred on Wednesday 16th October, 2024, on Johnson Road.
  3. Four (4) members of the Royal Bahamas Police Force and a male civilian will be arraigned together, at 12:00 p.m., in connection with a sexual assault incident that occurred on Saturday 05th October, 2024, on East Street South.
      • One (1) officer is charged with five (5) counts of Abetment to Rape.
      • One (1) officer is charged with two (2) counts of Rape.
      • Two (2) officers are each charged with one (1) count of Rape.

      NEW PROVIDENCE

      HOMICIDE VICTIMS IDENTIFIED

      The police wish to inform the public that the two adult males who were fatally shot during separate incidents on Saturday, October 19, 2024, have been officially identified:

      • Javonne Holbert, a 25-year-old resident of Yellow Elder Gardens, was fatally shot on Graham Drive in the first incident.
      • Wayne Missick, a 30-year-old resident of Martins Close, was fatally shot in the second incident on Martins Close.

      WEEK-IN-REVIEW: 14th OCTOBER, 2024 – 20th OCTOBER, 2024

      OPERATION BLITZ YIELDS POSITIVE RESULTS

      The Royal Bahamas Police Force conducted a joint operation, dubbed “Operation Blitz”, involving officers from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and The Bahamas Immigration Department.

      Operation Blitz yielded the following results: thirty-two (32) search warrants were executed at various homes and businesses; and thirty-six (36) individuals were arrested for various offences, including firearm related offences, outstanding warrants, organized crime, and immigration purposes.

      (11) ADULTS CRIMINALLY CHARGED

      In the same week, the Criminal Investigation Department formally charged ten (10) males and one (1) female for breaches against the Statute Laws of the Bahamas including Murder, Accessory After the Fact to Murder, Rape, Armed Robbery, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Stolen Vehicle.

      POLICE SEIZED (3) FIREARMS & (24) ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION

      In the same week, the Anti-Gang & Firearms Investigation Task Force Unit formally charged two adult males, aged 19 and 39, in separate incidents following the confiscation of three (3) firearms and twenty-four (24) rounds of ammunition by the police. A 31-year-old female has been arrested in connection with one of these incidents and is anticipated to face charges in the forthcoming week.

      The 19-year-old was arraigned on Monday 21st October, 2024, following the confiscation of (2) firearms with ammunition on Thursday 17th October, 2024 at a residence on Baldwin Avenue.

      The 39-year-old was also arraigned on Monday 21st October, 2024, in connection with a firearm- related matter that occurred on Friday 18th October, 2024. He is currently on bail, having been charged for a similar offence in the Magistrate’s Court.
