NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE INVESTIGATE DOUBLE SHOOTING
An investigation is underway into a shooting incident that occurred shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Saturday 19th October, 2024, which claimed the life of an adult male and left another hospitalized.
Police were alerted to reports of gunshots being discharged on Martin Close off Cowpen Road and promptly responded. Upon their arrival, they discovered two adult males suffering from apparent gunshot injuries; one was transported to the hospital by a private vehicle, while the other succumbed on scene.
Preliminary reports indicate that the victims were standing outside a residence when two (2) masked males exited a silver Japanese vehicle and opened fire in their direction before returning to their vehicle and fleeing the scene, traveling north towards Cowpen Road.
The second victim, aged 21, is currently listed in stable condition.

RECOVERED & STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT
Recovered
Police successfully recovered a white Mazda Bongo in the area of Atlantic Drive on Saturday 19th October, 2024. The vehicle was reported stolen on Thursday 17th October, 2024, from Market Street & Brougham Street.
Stolen
Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying person(s) responsible for stealing the following vehicles on Saturday 19th October, 2024:
- A gray KIA Sportage Jeep L/P #AL7868 – stolen from Meeting Street.
- A white 2013 Nissan Note L/P #AY1782 – stolen from Fire Trail Road (east).

GRAND BAHAMA: UNCONSCIOUS MAN FOUND ON UNPAVED ROAD
Police in Grand Bahama are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of an unconscious male on Saturday 19th October, 2024.
According to initial reports, residents discovered the 29-year-old victim with visible head injuries on an unpaved road between Sgt. Major Road and Spinney Road shortly after 2:00 p.m. and notified the police. The injured male was subsequently transported to the hospital, where he is currently listed in serious condition.

GRAND BAHAMA: FOUND DRUGS
Police in Grand Bahama successfully seized 5 pounds of suspected marijuana, worth an estimated $5,000.00 on Saturday 19th October, 2024.
Preliminary reports indicate that around 6:30 p.m., officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on information, arrived at a track road off Mall Drive, where they searched a bushy area and seized the dangerous drugs. No arrests were made in connection with this discovery.
Investigations continue.
NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE INVESTIGATES LATEST TRAFFIC FATALITY
Police are investigating a traffic accident that occurred on Sunday 20th October, 2024 around 11:00 p.m. at Arawak Cay Drive which claimed the life of a 21-year-old American male tourist.
Investigative reports confirmed that the male operator of a black and green Polaris Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) accompanied by a male front seat passenger, was making a maneuver on Arawak Cay Drive in the vicinity of the Container Port, when the UTV tilted, ejecting the passenger, who became unresponsive.
Emergency medical services personnel visited the scene and examined the injured male, but he showed no vital signs of life, succumbing to his injuries on scene.
The Traffic Division visited the scene and will continue investigations into this fatal incident.
