NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE INVESTIGATES LATEST TRAFFIC FATALITY
Police are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of an adult female motorist around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday 19th October, 2024.
According to preliminary reports, the female driver and female passenger, the occupants of a white Nissan Bluebird, were traveling east along West Bay Street when the driver reportedly lost control and collided into a northern boundary wall that borders Western Esplanade. As a result, both individuals sustained serious injuries, with the driver succumbing to her injuries on scene.
Emergency medical services personnel responded and transported the female passenger to the hospital in serious condition.
The Traffic Division will conduct further investigations into this incident.
POLICE CONFISCATES FIREARM: SUSPECTS ARRESTED
A joint effort by the police and the Royal Bahamas Defence Force on Friday 18th October, 2024, resulted in the seizure of an unlicensed firearm and the arrest of an adult male and female.
Preliminary reports indicate that shortly before 10:00 p.m. a team of officers from Operation Ceasefire, comprising of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, S.W.A.T., and the K-9 Unit, arrived at a residence in Tropical Gardens, where they executed a search warrant and seized an illegal firearm containing ammunition from the home, resulting in the arrest of the two occupants, a 39- year-old male and a 30-year-old female.
Investigations continue.
MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING ARMED ROBBERY
Police are questioning 29-year-old male in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Friday 18th October, 2024, off Cowpen Road.
According to preliminary reports shortly before 7:00 p.m., the victim, while on Martin Close, was confronted by a male known to him, who produced a sharp instrument and robbed him of his personal belongings. Officers quickly responded and arrested the 29-year-old individual at a residence on Martin Close, successfully recovering the stolen property.
Investigations are ongoing into this matter.
STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT
Police seek the public’s assistance in locating a silver 2014 Nissan Note L/P #AZ1202 that was reportedly stolen on Friday 18th October, 2024, from a residence on Bacardi Road off Carmichael Road.

OPERATION BLITZ: POLICE SEIZED 81 POUNDS OF SUSPECTED MARIJUANA
In a collaborative effort known as “Operation Blitz,” which involved the Royal Police Force, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, and the Department of Immigration, officers seized 81 pounds of suspected marijuana worth an estimated $81,000.00 on Cowpen Road.
According to preliminary reports, around 11:00 p.m. on Friday 18th October, 2024, officers, acting on intelligence, discovered and confiscated multiple crocus sacks, each containing a large quantity of suspected marijuana from an unfinished structure on Cowpen Road.
This discovery resulted in no arrests; however, police are following significant leads regarding this incident.

POLICE INVESTIGATE FATAL SHOOTING
Police are actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday 19th October, 2024, on Graham Drive claiming the life of a 26-year-old male.
Initial reports indicate that shortly before 10:00 a.m., the victim was walking west along Graham Drive when he was approached by three male occupants in a gray colored SUV. It is reported that the individuals, who were armed with firearms, discharged their weapons in his direction, shooting him multiple times before fleeing the scene. The victim attempted to flee in a westerly direction but collapsed at the junction of Derby Road.
Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene, examined the victim but they did not detect any vital life signs.
The deceased was equipped with an electronic monitoring device and was on bail for charges of murder and armed robbery.
