NEW PROVIDENCE

POLICE INVESTIGATES ARMED ROBBERIES

Police have launched investigations into two (2) armed robberies that occurred in the capital on Saturday, September 28, 2024.

The first incident occurred around 11:00 a.m., when a delivery driver was robbed of an undisclosed sum of cash in the Lincoln Boulevard area by two masked gunmen in a black heavily tinted Japanese vehicle that veered in front of him, obstructing his path.

In the final incident, which occurred around 9:00 p.m., the victim was walking near East and Deveaux Streets when he was approached by two unknown males, one of whom brandished a firearm, and both males robbed him of cash and other personal effects.

STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying person(s) responsible for stealing the following vehicles on Saturday, September 28, 2024:

  1. A black 2013 Nissan Juke L/P#AX4926 – stolen from Sugar Apple Street-Pinewood Gardens
  2. A burgundy Nissan Note L/P# AS1603 – stolen from Fish Fry-Western Esplanade parking lot
  3. A burgundy 2013 Nissan Note L/P# – AZ8006 stolen from Park Road off Isle Way- Malcolm Road

NORTHERN BAHAMAS GRAND BAHAMA

SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR FIREARM POSSESSION

Police in Grand Bahama arrested a 30-year-old male and a 14-year-old teen boy on Saturday, September 28, 2024, after confiscating a high-powered firearm.

According to reports, shortly before 8:00 p.m., officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit arrested the males while conducting inquiries in the area of Fortune Bay Drive Beach after they observed them emerging from nearby bushes with a bag. The officers detained the males and searched the bag, discovering the weapon inside, leading to their arrest.

Investigations are ongoing by the Anti-Gang & Firearms Investigation Task Force.
