NEW PROVIDENCE

ARRAIGNMENT

Police wish to inform the general public that on Monday, September 23, 2024, the Criminal Investigation Department will place a 32-year-old male before the Magistrate's Court charged with two (2) counts of Murder.

This is connected to the shooting deaths of Eugene Woodside and Dennis Moss that occurred in 2017.

POLICE INVESTIGATES BOATING INCIDENT

Four adults, two females and two males, were injured following a boating incident on Sunday, September 22, 2024.

Initial reports indicate that just before 6:00 p.m., the operator of a pleasure vessel in waters near Pearl Island made a sudden maneuver to avoid a collision with another vessel in close proximity. This action led to the females being thrown to one side of the boat and the males being thrown overboard.

The males, aged 39 and 40, sustained life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital, where the 40-year-old is currently in critical condition and the 39-year-old is in stable condition.

One of the females, aged 27, sustained an injury to her facial region, while the other, aged 28, sustained a broken leg.

Investigations into this matter continue.

ARMED ROBBERY INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY

Police are actively searching four (4) male suspects responsible for an armed robbery that occurred at a residence on Monday, September 23, 2024.

Initial reports reveal that around 4:00 a.m., a couple at their Sanford Drive home were alerted to noise emanating from the exterior. Upon making checks, the male encountered four males, two of whom were armed with firearms, forcing him into the residence and robbing him and his wife of their valuables.

Police are appealing to members of the public with information about this armed robbery to come contact 911, 919, the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477).

STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying person(s) responsible for stealing a white 2017 Nissan Note, L/P#AP5487 from a residence on Wellington Street and Blue Hill Road on Sunday, September 22, 2024.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS GRAND BAHAMA

ARRAIGNMENT

Police wish to inform the general public that on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., the Drug Enforcement Unit will place a 48-year-old male from New Providence before the Freeport Magistrate's Court charged with Conspiracy to Import Dangerous Drugs.

FAMILY ISLANDS ANDROS

POLICE INVESTIGATE DROWNING INCIDENT

Police in Andros are investigating the circumstances surrounding an alleged drowning incident involving an adult male.

Preliminary reports indicate that shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2024, police were alerted to a body of a male, found unresponsive on the shoreline of a beach in the settlement of Lowe Sound (North Andros).

Medical personnel who visited the scene examined the body and were unable to detect any vital signs of life.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigations continue.

POLICE INVESTIGATES BOATING ACCIDENT

On Sunday, September 22, 2024, a boating accident occurred in the Coco Da Mama area, resulting in two females and one adult male sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary reports indicate that around 11:00 p.m. the boat operator ran aground in the vicinity of Coco Da Mama, resulting in a 31-year-old male sustaining an injury to his hand, while the two females, aged 22 and 36, suffered minor injuries to the head and back, respectively.

The injured individuals were transported to the Palmetto Point medical facility for further medical attention.

Police are urging boaters to remain vigilant and ensure that all passengers are equipped with life vests.

NEW PROVIDENCE

8 FIREARMS SEIZED BY POLICE: WEEK IN REVIEW

Police successfully seized six (6) pistols, one (1) rifle, one (1) shotgun, and one hundred fourteen (114) rounds of ammunition from September 16 to September 22, 2024.

The weapons were seized in separate incidents by officers from Operation Cease Fire, which includes the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, the Anti-Gang & Firearms Investigation Task Force Unit, the Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Grand Bahama and Exuma District. This resulted in the arrest and arraignment of eleven (11) individuals, including ten adult males and one adult female.

The police would like to encourage the public to contact their nearest police station to provide information regarding suspected criminal activity in their communities, as the Royal Bahamas Police Force remains committed to its ongoing efforts to reduce crime and create safer communities
