NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE INVESTIGATES ASSAULT INCIDENT
Police can confirm that an adult male filed an official complaint on Thursday, September 19, 2024, after being assaulted with a deadly instrument by two (2) males, which was captured on video and is being shared on various social media platforms
The victim was reportedly standing outside a business establishment on Alexandria Boulevard in Nassau Village shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, when two males, both armed with deadly weapons (machete), confronted and assaulted him.
The victim was taken to the hospital, treated for his injuries, and discharged. Police are actively searching for the two male suspects connected with this incident. ADULT MALE ARRESTED IN DRUG SEIZURE
On Thursday, September 19, 2024, officers from Operation Ceasefire, including members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, arrested a 28-year-old male after seizing 1.7 pounds of suspected marijuana worth an estimated $2,700.00 from his home.
According to initial reports, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Landrail Close shortly after 3:00 a.m. During the search, they uncovered the drugs, which resulted in the 28-year- old's subsequent arrest.
Investigations continue.
POLICE INVESTIGATES ARMED ROBBERY
Police are searching for two (2) male suspects who reportedly robbed another male of his purple 2010 Toyota BB L/P# AU2555 on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
Initial reports confirmed that around 6:00 p.m., two unknown males, one of whom was armed with a sharp instrument confronted the victim at a parking lot of a business establishment on East Street south, robbing him of his vehicle.
Police are appealing to members of the public to be on the lookout for the stolen vehicle. Anyone with information regarding this incident is advised to contact 911/ 919, the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991/2, the nearest police station or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477).
STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying person(s) responsible for stealing the following vehicles on Wednesday, September 18, 2024:
- 1.A teal-colored 2015-2016 Nissan Cube L/P# DA2764- stolen from Lucky Heart Corner off East Street.
- 2. A silver 2010 Nissan Tiida L/P# AE8642– stolen from Victoria Gardens- Gladstone Road
