NEW PROVIDENCE
FATAL ACCIDENTS CLAIM THE LIVES OF THREE ADULT MALES
Police are actively investigating two (2) separate fatal accidents that claimed the lives of three (3) adult males.
The first incident, occurred on Sunday, September 1, 2024, around 2:00 p.m., near the intersection of Prince Charles Drive and College Gardens Road, resulting in the death of an adult male motorcyclist.
Investigative reports confirmed that the male driver of a white Chevrolet Equinox with two (2) passengers was traveling east on Prince Charles Drive and attempted to turn south onto College Gardens Road when he reportedly collided with the male motorcyclist operating a black and blue Yamaha Ray ZR who was traveling west on Prince Charles Drive, crossing the intersection of College Gardens Road.
The collision between the two vehicles resulted in the motorcyclist sustaining severe injuries. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel responded; they examined him, but were unable to detect any vital signs of life, and as a result, he succumbed to his injuries on scene.
The second incident occurred on Monday, September 2, 2024, shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Sir Milo Butler Highway, resulting in the death of two (2) adult males.
According to preliminary reports, the male driver of a metallic gray Honda Passport with two adult male (2) passengers was traveling north along Sir Milo Butler Highway in the northern bound lane when he reportedly lost control and collided into a tree on the western side of the highway.
Upon arrival, officers, discovered the driver and the front-seat passenger trapped inside, unresponsive. Fire Services personnel utilized the Jaws of Life to extricate both individuals from the vehicle, who were assessed by EMS personnel but they showed no vital signs of life.
The rear-seat passenger was removed from the vehicle and transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Traffic Division will further investigate both incidents.
POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENTS
Police are investigating two (2) separate shooting incidents that occurred in the capital that led to two (2) adult males being hospitalized.
In the first incident police were alerted via its Shot Spotter technology of gunshots emanating on Ida Street off Balfour Avenue around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2024 and promptly responded.
Upon their arrival, they found a 59-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot injuries to his right extremities and requested EMS, who subsequently transported him to the hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Preliminary reports revealed that the victim was conversing with individuals in the vicinity of Ida Street when he heard the sound of gunshots and fell to the ground. Upon experiencing discomfort in his right side, he realized that he had been shot and called 911.
In the second incident, following reports of gunshots being discharged on Quakoo Street off East Street just before 2:00 a.m. on Monday, September 2, 2024, police received reports that an adult male was shot.
Based on preliminary information, a lone gunman reportedly approached the victim while outside a residence, shot him, and then fled the area on foot, making good on his escape.
The victim, aged 48, sustained gunshot wounds to his left extremity and lower torso, he was transported to the hospital by EMS personnel, where he remains in stable condition.

POLICE INVESTIGATE ARMED ROBBERY
Police are searching for an armed male suspect who is responsible for an armed robbery that occurred at a business establishment on Sunday, September 1, 2024.
Preliminary reports indicate that shortly before 10:00 p.m., an unknown male entered a community store on Halls Close, off Gladstone Road, produced a firearm and robbed the establishment of an undisclosed sum of cash before he fled the area on foot making good on his escape.

STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT
Police seek the public’s assistance in finding the following vehicles that were reported stolen:
- A silver 2009 Nissan Note L/P #AG9866 – reported stolen on Sunday, September 1, 2024, from Flamingo Drive off Carmichael Road.
- A silver 2006 Nissan Bluebird (Sylphy) L/P #AW7702 – reported stolen on Sunday, September 1, 2024 from Jasmine Boulevard.
- A midnight blue Nissan Cube L/P #AP5059 – reported stolen on Monday, September 2, 2024 from West Bay Street.
- A black 2013 Nissan Note L/P #AY5045 – reported stolen on Monday, September 2, 2024 from St. Albans Drive off West Bay Street.

ARRAIGNMENT
Police would like to inform the public that on Monday, September 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., the Drug Enforcement Unit will present a 34-year-old male and 32-year-old female, both natives from the Netherlands, residing on Coral Harbour Road, before the Magistrate’s Court with the following drug-related offences:
- Possession of Dangerous Drugs with Intent to Supply
- Cultivation of Dangerous Drugs
- Possession of Dangerous Drugs
- Soliciting Persons for the Purpose of Selling Dangerous Drugs
This is connected with the drug seizure of a quantity of suspected psilocybin mushrooms discovered at a residence on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, resulting in the arrest of the two accused.
NEW PROVIDENCE
TRAFFIC FATALITY VICTIMS IDENTIFIED
Police would like to notify the public that the three young males, who died in a fatal crash on Monday, September 2, 2024, on the Sir Milo Butler Highway, are brothers and have been formally identified as:
- 24-year-old Philip McCarron Christie
- 23-year-old Philip D’Caprio Christie
- 20-year-old D’Angelo Christie
ARRAIGNMENT UPDATE
Police wish to inform the public that Elike Hollink, aged 32, from Coral Harbour Road was arraigned on Monday, September 2, 2024, before Magistrate Shaka Seville in Court #4 with the following drug-related offenses:
- Possession of Dangerous Drugs with Intent to Supply
- Cultivation of Dangerous Drugs
- Possession of Dangerous Drugs
- Soliciting Persons for the Purpose of Selling Dangerous Drugs
Hollink pled not guilty to the charges and was given bail in the amount of $7,000.00. In addition, she must surrender all travel documents and wear an electronic monitoring device. The case is adjourned until November 24, 2024, for further court proceedings.

UPDATE: VIRAL SOCIAL MEDIA IMAGE
Police are aware of a widely shared image on various social media platforms that shows a young male student brandishing what appeared to be a high-powered weapon.
Police swiftly identified the juvenile and confiscated the imitation firearm, along with two other imitation firearms.
The juvenile and his guardian is assisting police with their ongoing investigation.
Police encourage parents and guardians to stay informed about their children's activities and online presence on social media platforms. Similarly, it is important for children to always make responsible choices and exercise caution when sharing information on social media.
In addition, the police would like to remind everyone that any violations against the Statute Laws of the Bahamas may lead to individuals being prosecuted.
