NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENTS
Police in the capital are actively investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred on Sunday, August 25, 2024, which have left two males with gunshot injuries and another male dead.
The first incident reportedly occurred around 1:00 a.m. at an unnamed road in the Bozine Town community off Tonique Williams-Darling Highway, resulting in the death of a 20-year-old male and a 30-year-old male with non-life threatening injuries.
According to preliminary reports, both victims were attending a party when gunshots erupted nearby; they both fled for safety; however, the 20-year-old was shot multiple times about the body; he fled into a residence, where he later collapsed, while the 30-year-old later realized he sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.
Emergency medical services arrived at the scene, examined the 20-year-old victim, but found no vital signs of life; they transported the second victim, to the hospital, where he is listed in a stable condition.
In the second incident, which occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Soldier Road, east of Old Trail Road, a 31-year-old motorist was injured and presented himself to the hospital for medical attention.
Preliminary reports indicate that the victim was driving in the aforementioned area when a red Japanese vehicle allegedly overtook him, and the occupants of that vehicle opened fire on his vehicle, shooting him in the left arm before fleeing the scene.
The victim drove himself to the hospital, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

UPDATE: PHILIP ADDERLEY HOMICIDE
The Royal Bahamas Police Force wishes to inform the public that on Monday, August 26, 2024, three (3) adult males will appear in the Magistrate’s Court for their arraignment regarding this matter.
Philip Adderley was discovered off Southwest Road in the Western District of New Providence on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
In addition, the police are aware of the graphic video and text messages that provide a detailed account of the events leading up to this homicide and have launched an investigation to determine its origin.
NORTHERN BAHAMAS
GRAND BAHAMA: POLICE INVESTIGATE JET SKI ACCIDENT
A 20-year-old female visitor from the U.S.A. is currently receiving medical care at the hospital following an incident in the waters at Taino Beach around 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, 25th August, 2024.
Initial reports revealed that the victim was involved in a water activity when she was struck by a jet ski operated by an adult male. As a result, she sustained injuries to her upper body.
Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and transported the female to the hospital, where she is currently in stable condition.
Investigations are ongoing.
