NEW PROVIDENCE

ADULT MALE ARRESTED IN DRUG SEIZURE

A 21-year-old male was arrested by Operation Cease Fire officers, which included the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, after a quantity of suspected marijuana was confiscated on Wednesday 21st August, 2024.

According to initial reports, around 8:00 p.m., a team of officers acting on information arrived at a home in the vicinity of Cowpen Road and Montgomery Avenue, where they seized a quantity of suspected hydroponic marijuana, resulting in the arrest of a 21-year-old male occupant.

The suspected drugs weigh 2.8 pounds, with an estimated street value of $5,600.00. Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE RECOVERS STOLEN VEHICLES

Police successfully recovered the following vehicles on Wednesday 21st August, 2024:

  1. A royal blue 2007 Nissan Lafesta L/P #AA3347 – recovered on Fox Hill Road near Timothy Lane. It was reported stolen on Tuesday 20th August, 2024, from Shirley Street.
  2. A white 2013 Nissan March L/P #AE2423 – recovered on Plantol Street. It was reported stolen on Tuesday 20th August, 2024, from Western Road. A 49-year-old male has been arrested in connection with this incident.
  3. A white 2014 Nissan Latio L/P #AZ9243 – was also recovered on Plantol Street. It was reported stolen on Tuesday 13th August, 2024, from Hampshire Street off West Bay Street. A 49-year-old male has been arrested. In connection with this incident as well

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATE SEXUAL ASSAULT

Police are questioning a 33-year-old male in connection with an alleged sexual assault of an 18- year-old female.

The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday 21st August, 2024, around 2:00 p.m. at a residence off Faith Avenue.

Investigations into this matter are ongoing.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

ABACO: POLICE ARREST MALE AFTER CONFISCATING A FIREARM

Police in Abaco arrested an adult male on Thursday, August 22, 2024, during a traffic stop and confiscated an unlicensed firearm.

According to reports, around 1:30 a.m., officers observed the driver of a white Honda Fit on S. C. Bootle Highway, driving in a dangerous and reckless manner. As a result, the officers stopped the vehicle, searched the sole occupant, and discovered a firearm containing ammunition in his possession, which led to his arrest.
