STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

Police seek the public’s assistance in finding the following vehicles that were reported stolen on Tuesday 20th August, 2024:

  1. A white 2013 Nissan Cube L/P #AK5425 – reported stolen from Dignity Gardens off Carmichael Road.
  2. A white 2015 Nissan Note – reported stolen from Tiki Street.
  3. A 2013 Nissan Note L/P #AE2423 – reported stolen from Western Road.
  4. A royal blue 2007 Nissan Lafesta L/P #AA3347 – reported stolen from Shirley Street.

NEW PROVIDENCE

FIREARM CONFISCATED, TWO ADULTS IN CUSTODY

A 49-year-old male and a 19-year-old female are in police custody following the seizure of an unlicensed firearm on Winnifred Avenue, off Frank Edgecombe Road

According to reports, around 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department, acting on information, arrived at a residence on Winnifred Avenue, searched a vehicle, and discovered a firearm containing ammunition, leading to the subsequent arrest of the adult male and female.

Investigations are ongoing.

MAN ARRESTED AFTER DRUG CONFISCATION

Police officers from the Cable Beach Division confiscated a large quantity of suspected marijuana and arrested a 31-year-old male on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

According to preliminary reports, shortly before 6:00 p.m., officers, acting on information, conducted a search of a vehicle that was parked at a beach off West Bay Street, where they discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana, resulting in the 31-year-old male, who is the vehicle owner, being arrested. Additionally, officers searched the suspect's home in Tropical Gardens, discovering multiple packages containing a large quantity of suspected marijuana.

The suspected marijuana weighs 15.8 pounds, with an estimated street value of $15,800.00.

The Drug Enforcement Unit will conduct further investigations into this incident.

POLICE INVESTIGATE ARMED ROBBERY

An investigation is underway into an armed robbery that occurred on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, off Carmichael Road.

Initial reports indicate that around 10:00 a.m., the victim was walking along Alexandria Road when a burgundy Japanese vehicle, occupied by three (3) unknown males, stopped alongside him, and one of the occupants produced a firearm, subsequently robbing him of cash and other personal belongings.
