NEW PROVIDENCE
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED INTO SHOOTING INCIDENT
An off-duty police officer is hospitalized following a shooting incident that occurred in the early hours of Thursday, 15 August 2024.
Initial reports revealed that the victim heard multiple gunshots fired in his direction around 1:00 a.m. while driving on Gladstone Road, near Bellot Road, after patronizing a licensed premises. After experiencing pain in his upper body, he realized that he had been shot and notified 911.
Emergency Medical Services were dispatched and transported the officer to the hospital, where his condition is currently listed as serious.

MAN ARRESTED IN MAJOR DRUG SEIZURE
The arrest of a 43-year-old male and the seizure of 42 pounds of suspected marijuana worth an estimated $42,000.00 were the outcomes of the collaborative efforts of officers from the Drug Enforcement and K-9 Units on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
Initial reports revealed that around 5:00 p.m., officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Kim’s Crescent off Baillou Hill Road, where during the search, they discovered and confiscated the dangerous drugs, which led to the arrest of the 43-year-old sole male occupant.
Investigations are ongoing.
STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT
Police seek the public’s assistance in locating a white 2014 Nissan Note L/P #AZ8318 that was reported stolen on Wednesday 14th August, 2024 from McKinney Avenue, Stapledon Gardens.

GRAND BAHAMA: POLICE CONFISCATE HIGH-POWERED WEAPONS
Police in Grand Bahama confiscated two (2) high-powered firearms on Wednesday 14th August, 2024, around 9:30 p.m.
Preliminary reports indicate that the Drug Enforcement Unit officers were on mobile patrols at Graveyard Corner when they observed a group of males congregating in an abandoned building; however, as the officers approached, the males fled, making good on their escape. As a result, the officers searched the building and discovered two (2) high-powered firearms, one of which contained ammunition.
Investigations are ongoing into this matter.
NORTHERN BAHAMAS BIMINI
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED INTO LATEST HOMICIDE
Police in Bimini are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 32-year-old male on Thursday 15th August, 2024.
Preliminary reports confirm that around noon, police met an unresponsive male with an apparent gunshot injury in the Fisherman's Village Marina located in North Bimini and requested medical assistance.
The District Medical Doctor visited the scene, examined the victim, found no vital signs of life, and pronounced him deceased.
Police are searching for a 28-year-old male who is a person of interest in connection with this incident.
