POLICE INVESTIGATE ARMED ROBBERIES

Police have launched investigations into two (2) armed robberies that occurred in the capital.

The first incident reportedly occurred on Sunday 11th August, 2024, at a business establishment in the vicinity of Carmichael Road and Iguana Way shortly before 10:00 p.m.

Preliminary reports indicate that two (2) unknown gunmen entered the establishment and held the employees at gunpoint as they stole an undisclosed sum of cash belonging to the business before fleeing south on Iguana Way in a champagne-colored Japanese vehicle.

The second incident occurred on Monday 12th August, 2024, at a business establishment in the area of Mackey Street and Windsor Road around 8:00 p.m.

According to initial reports, two (2) unknown males entered the establishment, both brandishing firearms, and demanded cash. However, as the employees ran for safety, the culprits removed the cash registers containing an undetermined amount of cash.

It is further reported that the suspects confronted a police officer as they were exiting; there was an exchange of gunfire with the officer; however, no one was injured during the exchange, and both suspects managed to escape the scene with the stolen items.
