NEW PROVIDENCE

POLICE INVESTIGATE FATAL SHOOTING

A 51-year-old male is dead following a shooting incident that occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday 16th July, 2024, on Hanna Road off Joe Farrington Road.

Preliminary reports indicate that the victim had entered his burgundy Nissan Cube vehicle and was about to leave his residence on Hanna Road when two (2) unknown gunmen exited from a nearby parked dark-colored Japanese vehicle. It is reported that the assailants fired multiple gunshots at the victim's vehicle, resulting in the victim being shot multiple times.

EMS personnel visited the scene, examined the victim but found no vital signs of life.

ARMED ROBBERY INVESTIGATIONS UNDERWAY

Police are searching for an armed male suspect who reportedly robbed two females on Wednesday 17th July, 2024, in Bel-Air Estates off Carmichael Road.

Initial reports revealed that around 12:30 a.m., the female victims had just arrived at a residence on Nola Circle when they were approached by an unidentified male who allegedly produced a firearm and subsequently robbed both women of their personal belongings, including a sum of cash. The suspect then fled to a dark-colored vehicle that was waiting nearby making good on his escape.

Police urge anyone with information about this armed robbery to contact 911, 919, or the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991. Furthermore, anonymous tips are also welcome through CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477).

STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

Police seek the public’s help in locating a sky blue 2005 Nissan Tiida L/P #AT1441 that was reportedly stolen from St. Martin Road on Tuesday 16th July, 2024.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS ABACO

AUTHORITIES SEARCH FOR HAITIAN MUSICAL ARTIST LOST AT SEA

Officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, along with officers from the Royal Bahamas Defense Force and Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association (BASRA) are searching for 32-year-old musical artist Mechanste Wens Jonathan Desir, also known as "Mechans T”.

According to initial reports, police in Abaco received unconfirmed reports of the missing male on Tuesday 16th July, 2024 and commenced its investigation.

At present there are no official records of Desir entering or leaving the country; however, it is reported that he was seen performing at a local night club on Saturday 18th May, 2024 in celebration of the Haitian Flag Day.

Abaco police are actively investigating to determine the whereabouts of Mr. Desir and appeal to members of the public who may have any information that can assist with the investigation, to contact police @ 242-367-2560/ 911, 919 or CRIMESTOPPERS @328-TIPS.
