NEW PROVIDENCE
15 FIREARMS & AN ESTIMATED 1500 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION CONFISCATED BY POLICE
Fifteen (15) firearms, inclusive of four (4) assault rifles, nine (9) pistols, one (1) revolver, and one (1) shotgun, along with an estimated fifteen hundred (1500) rounds of assorted ammunition, were confiscated by officers from Operation Ceasefire, including members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, on Monday 08th July, 2024.
According to preliminary reports, around 7:00 a.m., officers acting on information proceeded to a track road in the area of Rose Road off Hanna Road, where they discovered and confiscated the cache of firearms and ammunition.
There have been no arrests made in connection with this incident. The Anti-Gang & Firearm Investigation Task Force will conduct further investigations into this incident.
NEW PROVIDENCE
MULTIPLE ARRESTS MADE IN FIREARM AND AMMUNITION SEIZURES
Police made multiple arrests in separate firearm and ammunition seizures on Sunday 07th July, 2024.
In the first incident, around 11:30 a.m., officers from the Southwestern Division, Operation Ceasefire, including members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, executed a search warrant at a home on Maize Court off Faith Avenue, where they confiscated a quantity of ammunition, resulting in the arrest of the two (2) male occupants, aged 58 and 22.
In the final incident, around 2:30 p.m., Operation Ceasefire officers, including members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, executed a search warrant at a residence on McQuay Street off Nassau Street. During the search, officers discovered a firearm containing ammunition and a quantity of suspected marijuana, which led to the arrest of four (4) male occupants, aged 44, 43, 22, and 18.
The suspected marijuana's estimated weight and street value are currently unknown. Investigations continue.
POLICE INVESTIGATE MULTIPLE ARMED ROBBERIES
Police are investigating separate alleged armed robberies that occurred in the capital on Sunday 07th July, 2024.
The first incident took place around 3:30 a.m. in the parking lot of a business establishment on Gibbs Corner, off East Street.
Preliminary reports indicate that the victim was approached by three (3) unknown males, all of whom were armed with firearms, when they robbed the victim of his brown 2001 Honda Stream before they fled the area, making good on their escape.
The second incident happened around 4:30 p.m. outside a business establishment on Nassau Street and Carter Street.
According to reports, two (2) unknown males approached the victim at gunpoint, robbing him of his black 2023 Yamaha T2 motorcycle. One of the culprits left the scene on the stolen motorcycle, while the other escaped on foot.
The third incident took place around 11:00 p.m. at the Fish Fry on West Bay.
Initial reports indicate that the victim was approached by two (2) unknown males, one of whom brandished a firearm and stole his brown Nissan Cube, before both suspects fled the immediate area; however, officers from the Northwestern Division later recovered the stolen vehicle on Wilkinson Street off West Street; no arrest was made in connection with this incident.
The final incident occurred on Monday 08th July, 2024, around 3:00 a.m. at the intersection of Faith Avenue and Hamster Road. According to preliminary reports, the victim was driving her vehicle, a white 2010 Nissan Cube L/P # AY5931, when a dark-colored Japanese vehicle obstructed her path. It is reported that two (2) unidentified gunmen exited their vehicle, approached her, and robbed her of her vehicle. The culprits fled the scene followed by the suspects’ vehicle.
Police are appealing to members of the public to be on the lookout for the stolen vehicles. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is advised to contact 911, 919, the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991, or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477).
STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT
Police seek the public’s help in locating a silver 2014 Nissan Note L/P #AD6161 that was reportedly stolen on Monday 08th July, 2024 from Ambergris Street in Bel-Air Estates.

Recovered
Police recovered a gray 2010 Nissan Cube L/P #AW8252 on Sunday 07 th July, 2024 on Tonique Williams-Darling Highway. According to reports, the vehicle was stolen on the same date from the Charles Saunders Highway area.
