NEW PROVIDENCE

MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING FIREARM CONFISCATION

Officers from Operation Ceasefire, including members of the Royal Bahamas Defense Force, confiscated an unlicensed firearm and arrested a 20-year-old male on Carmichael Road on Saturday, 06th July, 2024.

According to preliminary reports, officers conducted a routine vehicle stop-and-search near Stew Fish Drive around 11:30 p.m., found a firearm containing ammunition in the vehicle, and arrested the lone adult male.

The Anti-Gang & Firearm Investigation Task Force Unit will continue investigations into this incident.

POLICE INVESTIGATE MULTIPLE ARMED ROBBERIES

Police are investigating three (3) alleged armed robberies that occurred in the capital.

The first incident occurred on Friday 05th July, 2024, at a residence on Washington Street off Balfour Avenue.

Preliminary reports indicate that around 9:00 p.m., the victim was outside when three (3) unknown males, approached him. It is reported that one of the males brandished a firearm, robbing the victim of his white, green and black 2024 Yamaha XT2125E motorcycle before they fled the scene.

The second incident happened on Saturday 06th July, 2024 at a property on Hanna Road off Fox Hill Road.

According to reports, around 10:00 p.m., the victim was standing outside his white Nissan Caravan L/P #TN1214 when an unknown male emerged from nearby bushes, produced a firearm, and robbed the victim of an undisclosed sum of cash and his vehicle.

Officers from the Eastern Division located and recovered the stolen vehicle in the Kool Acres Subdivision.

The final incident took place on Sunday 07th July, 2024, on Wilson Track off Wulff Road.

Initial reports indicate that the victim arrived at a residence in his gray Nissan Cube L/P #AZ0464 shortly before 2:00 a.m. Upon exiting his vehicle, two (2) unknown gunmen approached and discharged gunshots in his direction, causing him to flee for safety. The culprits then entered his vehicle and fled the immediate area. The victim was unharmed during this incident.

Police are appealing to members of the public to be on the lookout for the stolen vehicles. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is advised to contact 911, 919, the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991, or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477).

POLICE INVESTIGATE SEXUAL ASSAULT

Police are searching for a male who allegedly sexually assaulted a 20-year-old female on Saturday 06th July, 2024 at an island near Paradise Island shortly after 4:00 p.m.

The Criminal Investigation Department is continuing investigations into this matter.

STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

Stolen

Police seek the public’s assistance in locating a black 2009 Ford Explorer L/P #AL9614 that was reportedly stolen on Saturday 06th July, 2024 from McKinney Avenue in Stapledon Gardens.

Recovered

A black Nissan March was recovered by the police on Saturday 06th July, 2024, in the Soldier Road area. According to reports, the vehicle was stolen from Sandilands Village Road on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
