NEW PROVIDENCE

FIREARM AND AMMUNITION ARRESTS MADE BY POLICE

A routine traffic stop by officers from the Southeastern Division resulted in four males being arrested on Thursday 27th June 2024 after they were found in possession of a handgun andammunition.

According to reports, shortly after 12:00 p.m., officers were conducting routine road checks on Prince Charles Drive when they stopped a white Honda Pilot driven by a 31 year old male for a traffic violation, and subsequently conducted a search of the vehicle.

It is reported that during the search, officers discovered a firearm containing ammunition and arrested the 31-year-old male.

Following the discovery, officers executed a search warrant on the drivers residence located off Soldier Road where a quantity of ammunition was seized. As a result three (3) occupants were arrested and are assisting police with their investigation.

POLICE SEEK PUBLICS HELP IN MURDER INVESTIGATION

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating two (2) males responsible for a shooting incident that has left a 26 year old male dead.

The incident occurred shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Thursday 27th June, 2024, in the Foxdale Subdivision, which is located off Bernard Road.

According to initial reports, the victim arrived at his residence on Carriage Lane and was immediately approached and shot multiple times by two males who exited a gray Japanese model vehicle. EMS personnel visited the scene; but, were unable to detect any vital signs of life.

Police are investigating and appealing to members of the public to come forward with any information that could aid in the investigation.

POLICE SEEK ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS

Police are searching for two (2) males who reportedly robbed a female of an undisclosed amount of cash on Thursday 27th June, 2024.

Preliminary reports indicate that shortly before 6:00 p.m. the victim was driving west on Madeira Street, in the area of Patton Street, when a white Japanese model vehicle overtook her and obstructed her path.

It is reported that two (2) males, both of whom were allegedly armed with handguns exited the Japanese vehicle, approached the female vehicle and demanded cash. The culprits robbed the female of cash and other personal items and fled the area west along Madeira Street.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

GRAND BAHAMA: MALES ARRESTED FOLLOWING SHOOTING INCIDENT

Police in Grand Bahama are questioning three (3) men, all family members, in connection with a shooting incident that has left an 18 year old male in hospital.

The incident reportedly occurred around 9:00 p.m. on Thursday 27th June, 2024 at a residence on Pioneers Way.

According to initial reports, the victim was outside a residence on Pioneers Way when he was accidentally shot by a family member with an illegal firearm.

The victim sustained a gunshot injury to his lower body and was transported to the hospital via private vehicle. Police investigations continue.

POLICE INVESTIGATE DEATH OF MALE

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an American visitor that occurred on Thursday 27th June, 2024, at Bottle Bay.

Preliminary reports indicate that around 5:00 p.m., the 69-year-old victim from Arkansas was snorkeling with family and friends when he became unresponsive.

The victim was administered CPR and subsequently transported to the hospital by EMS personnel where he succumbed. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
