NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE INVESTIGATE RECENT HOMICIDE
Police are investigating a shooting incident that has left a 36 year old female of Yellow Elder Gardens, dead.
According to reports around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday 23rd June, 2024 police were notified of the incident which occurred at a home on Melvern Road.
Initial reports indicate, the victim was in a verbal altercation with a male known to her when the shooting occurred.
The victim was taken to the hospital via private vehicle, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Police are questioning a 37 year old male of Yellow Elder Gardens, in connection with this incident. Police investigations continue.
THREE MALES ARRESTED IN FIREARM SEIZURE
Three males ages 23, 21 and 17 years were arrested by officers from Operation Ceasefire following a firearm seizure off Kemp Road on Saturday 22nd June 2024.
Preliminary reports indicate that shortly after 3:00 p.m., officers, acting on information, conducted a search of an area where the males were on Sutton Street and discovered the weapon. Investigations are ongoing.
TWO MEN INJURED IN STABBING INCIDENT
Two (2) men, ages 35 ages 29 years, are hospitalized following an altercation that occurred between them on Saturday 22nd June, 2024,
Initial reports indicate that shortly before 9:00 p.m., the men were at a bar on Carmichael Road when they got into an altercation, which resulted in both men arming themselves sharp objects and attacking each other.
Both males were stabbed multiple times and taken to the hospital where they both remain.
At present the 35-year-old condition is listed as stable, and the 29 year old condition is listed as critical. Investigations are ongoing.
POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENT
A 30 year old male of Gardens Hills is in hospital after being shot on Saturday 22nd June, 2024.
Preliminary reports indicate that shortly after 9:00 p.m., the victim was on Iguana Way off Carmichael Road with a group of men, when an unknown male entered the premises. It is reported that the male brandished a firearm and opened fire in the direction of the males which resulted in the victim being shot to the upper body.
The victim was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle where he remains in stable condition.
Police are actively investigating this incident and appealing to members of the public, who may have information about this incident to contact 911, 919, or the Criminal Investigation Department @ 502-9991. Furthermore, anonymous tips are also welcome through CRIME STOPPERS @ 328-TIPS (8477).
FEMALE SHOT @ YELLOW ELDER GARDENS IN CRITICAL CONDITION
Police wish to inform the public that the 36 year old female shot in Yellow Elder Gardens, on Sunday 23rd June, 2024 has not succumbed as initially reported; but, remains hospitalized in critical condition.
According to reports around 6:30 a.m., police were notified that the female was shot and taken to hospital via private vehicle.
Initial reports indicated, the victim was involved in a verbal altercation with her 37 year old boyfriend, outside their residence on Melvern Road, when the shooting occurred. Police arrested the suspect moments later and confiscated a loaded pistol.
Police are actively investigating this incident and are encouraging members of the public to find alternate ways to resolve their conflicts

ELEUTHERA: POLICE INVESTIGATE TRAFFIC FATALITY
Police in Eleuthera are investigating a fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of a 79 year old woman.
The incident reportedly occurred around 10:00 a.m. on Saturday 22nd June 2024 in Spanish Wells.
Preliminary reports indicate the female was traveling west along Leo Road, in a white Honda Civic when she reportedly lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole.
The female was taken to the local clinic where she succumbed to her injuries. Officers from the Traffic Division New Providence will travel to Eleuthera to assist their colleagues with the investigation.
BOATING ACCIDENT LEAVES WOMAN INJURED
Police in Eleuthera are investigating a boating accident that has left an American visitor hospitalized.
The incident reportedly occurred sometime around 2:00 p.m., on Saturday 22nd June 2024 on Harbour Island and involved a 35 ft. Contender vessel.
Initial reports indicate that the 38 year old female was swimming along with a male companion in waters of Pink Sands Beach when the incident occurred.
The victim was taken to the local clinic and later airlifted to New Providence for medical assistance. Investigations are ongoing.
