NEW PROVIDENCE

POLICE INVESETIGATE DOUBLE STABBING INCIDENT

Two (2) males are presently in hospital receiving medical assistance after being stabbed at a club on Nassau Street.

The incident reportedly occurred around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday 15th June 2024. At present the details surrounding the incident is unknown. Police investigations continue.

POLICE SEIZE TWO (2) FIREARMS IN SEPARATE INCIDENTS

In two (2) separate incidents on Friday 14th June 2024 police seized two (2) firearms with ammunition.

The first firearm seizure occurred around 6:00 a.m. by officers from the Mobile Division and resulted in the arrest of a 23-year-old male.

According to initial reports, officers responded to a traffic accident on New Providence Highway, where a male motorist had lost control of his vehicle and crashed.

Upon arrival, they discovered an injured man and conducted a search of his vehicle where they discovered a firearm containing ammunition. As a result, the suspect was arrested and transported to the hospital by ambulance for medical treatment.

The second firearm seizure was around 9:15 p.m. by officers from the Tourism Policing Unit.

Initial reports indicate that around 9:15 p.m. the officers, acting on information, searched a bushy area on Quarry Mission Road off Nassau Street and discovered the weapon. No arrests were made in connection with the incident. Investigations are ongoing into both of these matters.

ADULT MALE HOSPITALIZED FOLLOWING INDUSTRIAL INCIDENT

A 38-year-old male is currently receiving medical attention at the hospital following an incident at a job site in Freeport, Grand Bahama.

The incident took place on Peel Street around 2:00 p.m. on Friday 14th June 2024.

Based on initial reports, the male worker came into contact with a live wire, which resulted in him receiving an electric shock that rendered him unconscious.

EMS personnel were summoned, arrived at the scene and transported the victim to the hospital, where his condition remains stable. Investigation continues into this matter.

ABACO: AMERICAN MALE ARRESTED FOR FIREARM POSSESSION

Police in Abaco arrested a 47-year-old male of Florida after he was found in possession of two (2) firearms on Friday 14th June 2024.

Preliminary reports indicate that shortly before noon officers acting on information, arrested the male, at the Marsh Harbour Airport and confiscated the weapons which contained ammunition.

Investigations are ongoing into this matter.
