NEW PROVIDENCE
TWO FIREARMS CONFISCATED BY POLICE
Police confiscated two firearms and arrested an adult male in separate incidents on Thursday, June 06th, 2024.
In the first incident around 10:00 a.m., Mobile Division officers while on routine patrol in the eastern area of New Providence observed the driver of a black Dodge Charger speeding west on Yamacraw Hill Road; however, when the officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver refused, resulting in vehicle pursuit.
It is reported that during the pursuit, the driver discarded a firearm from his vehicle; it was retrieved by the pursuing officers near Rum Cay Avenue. The pursuit came to an end on Prince Charles Drive, leading to the apprehension of the sole occupant, a 33-year-old male.
In the second incident, shortly after noon, Ceasefire officers and members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, acting on information, searched a wooden structure on Step Street off Fox Hill Road, where they discovered and confiscated a loaded firearm. The incident resulted in no arrests. The Anti-Gang & Firearms Investigation Task Force will continue investigations into these incidents.
17 VEHICLES RECOVERED BY POLICE
Southwestern Division officers, acting on information recovered the following vehicles in the area of All Saints Road off Golden Isles Road on Thursday June 06th, 2024.

- (1) gray Nissan Note
- (1)black Nissan Juke
- (2) black Nissan Note
- (1) blue Honda Civic
- (2) white Nissan Note
- (1)> white Nissan Cube
In addition, police discovered six (6) burnt vehicles, including a Honda Civic and four Japanese model vehicles (Nissan Note, Nissan Cube, and Toyota Passo).

STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT
Police seek the public’s help in locating a burgundy 2011 Nissan Cube L/P # AV3044 that was reported stolen on Thursday, June 06th, 2024 from Firefly Lane.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS
GRAND BAHAMA: POLICE CONFISCATE DANGEROUS DRUGS
Grand Bahama police, acting on information confiscated a quantity of suspected marijuana from a business establishment premises on Queens Highway around 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024.
There were no arrests made in connection with this discovery. Investigations continue.
BIMINI: TWO MEN ARRESTED IN DRUG SEIZURE
Police in Bimini seized a quantity of suspected dangerous drugs in separate incidents on Thursday, June 06th , 2024, on Ocean Cay, resulting in the arrest of two adult males.
In the first incident, shortly after 1:00 p.m., officers arrested an 18-year-old male after he was found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana.
In the second incident, shortly before 3:00 p.m., officers executed a search warrant at a home and discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana. This led to the arrest of the sole occupant, another 18-year-old male.
The weight and value of the suspected marijuana are currently unknown. Investigations into these incidents are ongoing.
ABACO: POLICE INVESTIGATE STRUCTUAL FIRE
Police in Abaco are investigating the circumstances surrounding a structural fire that occurred on Thursday, June 06th, 2024.
According to initial reports, around 8:30 p.m., officers from the Fire Department were alerted to reports that a building located on Grand Cay was engulfed in flames. Upon the arrival of responding officers, they discovered a single story residence engulfed in flames. They were able to successfully put out the blaze with the assistance of community members. There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.
Investigations continue.
FAMILY ISLANDS
ANDROS: POLICE CONFISCATE FIREARM AND SUSPECTED DRUGS
Police in Andros arrested two (2) women in San Andros on Wednesday 05th June, 2024, for firearm and drug possession.
Initial reports indicate that around 10:30 a.m., officers executed a search warrant at a home on Eleanor Way. During the search, they discovered a firearm containing ammunition and a quantity of suspected cocaine. As a result, the two (2) female occupants, aged 61 and 26, were arrested.
Investigations are ongoing into this matter.
NEW PROVIDENCE
INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY INTO INCIDENT AT SEA
Police are investigating a boating incident that occurred in waters off Rose Island, resulting in the deaths of two (2) men and the hospitalization of another.
Police were notified of the incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Friday 07th June, 2024.
According to preliminary reports, the captain of a 32-foot Concept boat, along with two other male passengers departed from a marina in Nassau enroute to South Andros, when they reportedly collided with a reef near Rose Island, causing all occupants to be ejected from the vessel.
The men were discovered by a passing vessel, with one of them suffering from head injuries while the other two males were unresponsive.
Responding officers from Harbor Patrol and officers from the Royal Bahamas Defense Force transported the men back to Nassau. The sole survivor was taken to the hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition.
Police conducted a search of the area where the incident occurred, which led to the recovery of the occupants' belongings, including a licensed firearm belonging to the sole survivor, who is a police reserve. Despite efforts to tow the damaged boat, it sank during the process.
Investigations are ongoing into this incident.
SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR FIREARM POSSESSION
Three adult males are in police custody after a firearm with ammunition was confiscated on Friday, June 7, 2024.
According to preliminary reports, shortly before 5:00 p.m., officers from the Drug Enforcement and Financial Crime Units, while executing a search warrant at a residence on Higher Driver in Flamingo Gardens, confiscated the weapon, which led to the arrest of three male occupants, ages 56, 33, and 26.
The Anti-Gang & Firearms Investigation Task force will continue investigation into this incident.
