NEW PROVIDENCE

SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN STABBING INCIDENTS

An adult male and female are being questioned in connection with separate stabbing incidents that occurred on Monday 03rd June, 2024.

The first incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. in the vicinity of Okra Hill off East Bay Street and resulted in 32-year-old male being stabbed to the upper body while on a bus.

The 29-year-old suspect, attempted to flee along Okra Hill; however, he was arrested by an offduty police officer.

The victim was transported to the hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

The second incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. on King Street off Baillou Hill Road.

Initial reports indicate that the female victim, upon arrival to her residence was confronted and stabbed with a sharp object by a female known to her. The 34-year-old suspect was subsequently arrested.

The victim sustained injuries to her upper extremity and severe injuries to her facial region. She was transported to the hospital via emergency services where she remains in stable condition.

GRAND BAHAMA: BODY FOUND ON CANAL SHORE

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating the discovery of a deceased male body found on a canal shore on Monday 03rd June, 2024.

Preliminary reports indicate that police received a notification around 5:50 p.m. and proceeded to the canal in the vicinity of Silver Point Drive, where they found an unresponsive adult male lying on rocks near the shoreline.

EMS personnel arrived at the scene and examined the male, but they were unable to find any vital life signs.

The deceased had no visible injuries; however, a post-mortem examination will be performed to determine the exact cause of death, followed by an official identification process carried out by the next of kin.

Investigations continue.
