NEW PROVIDENCE

OPERATION CEASEFIRE CONFISCATE FIREARM AND SUSPECTED DRUGS

Operation Ceasefire officers seized a firearm and a quantity of suspected dangerous drugs on Friday, May 31st, 2024.

According to initial reports, around 10:35 p.m., police and Defense Force officers responded to reports of gunshots in the vicinity of First Street in Coconut Grove, and while making inquiries, they discovered and seized a firearm along with a quantity of suspected marijuana along a track road. No arrests were made as a result of the discovery.

Investigations are ongoing.

STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

Police seek the public’s assistance in finding a gray 2013 Nissan Cube L/P #AZ4470 that was reportedly stolen from Martinique Drive in Golden Gates on Friday 31st May, 2024.

POLICE INVESTIGATE TRIPLE SHOOTING

Police are actively searching for the occupants of a white Nissan Juke responsible for shooting three males on East Bay Street, east of Fowler Street.

Preliminary reports suggest that the victims, who were all passengers in a white Acura, pulled into the parking lot of a business establishment on East Bay Street when they were confronted by occupants of a white Nissan Juke, shortly before 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1st, 2024.

It is reported that two males exited the Nissan Juke opened fire on the victims' vehicle, shooting them multiple times.

Two victims, ages 25 and 24, sustained gunshot wounds to their upper and lower extremities and were transported to the hospital, where they are currently in stable condition.

The third victim, a 15-year-old male, was grazed in his upper and lower extremities; he was treated and discharged from the hospital.

Investigations continue.
