NORTHERN BAHAMAS ABACO
LATEST HOMICIDE INVESTIGATED BY POLICE Police are investigating a fatal shooting incident in Dundas Town, Abaco that claimed the life of a 38-year-old male.
Initial reports indicate that on Tuesday 16th January, 2024, shortly after 7:00 p.m., police were alerted by a concerned citizen to gunshots emanating in the vicinity of Latter Rain Way.
Upon arriving at the location, responding officers found an adult male lying on the road, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical technicians responded to the scene, examined the victim, and determined that he showed no signs of life.
A 50-year-old male from Spring City, Abaco, and a 29-year-old male from Marsh Harbour, Abaco were taken into custody and are assisting with the investigation.

POLICE INVESTIGATE STABBING INCIDENT: GRAND BAHAMA Police in Grand Bahama are investigating the circumstances surrounding a stabbing incident that left a 13-year-old male suffering from serious injuries.
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday 16th January, 2024 around 5:30 p.m.
According to preliminary reports, the victim was walking in the area of Lewis Yard when three males, who were known to him, approached and encouraged him to join a gang. After he declined, one of the males produced a knife and stabbed him in the upper abdomen.
EMS attended the scene and transported the victim to the hospital, where he was examined by a doctor who listed his injuries as critical.
Investigations are ongoing into this incident.
STOLEN VESSEL RECOVERED OFF MOORES ISLAND A 30-foot blue fishing vessel named “Wassabi” with two Yamaha engines that was reportedly stolen on Saturday 13th January, 2024, from a canal on Booty Drive off Midshipman Road in Grand Bahama has been discovered by police on Abaco.
According to reports, police acting on intelligence discovered the vessel around 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday 16th January, 2024, in the Northern Mangroves, opposite Moore’s Island.
There was no arrest made in connection to this incident. Investigations are ongoing into this matter.

LATEST HOMICIDES INVESTIGATED BY POLICE Police are actively investigating two (2) separate shooting incidents that claimed the lives of two adult males on Wednesday 17th January, 2024. One incident occurred at the intersection of Village and Parkgate Roads while the other occurred on Pineyard Road.
In the first incident, sometime around noon, the lone male driver of a small Japanese vehicle was at the intersection of Parkgate and Village Roads when the occupants of a white Japanese vehicle pulled alongside him and opened fire, resulting in him being shot multiple times.
Emergency medical technicians responded to the scene, examined the victim, and determined that he showed no signs of life.
The deceased was on bail for Murder and he had a pending case scheduled to commence this upcoming Monday.
In the second incident, sometime around 11:20 a.m. police received reports from concerned citizens regarding gunshots heard in the vicinity of Pineyard Road. According to reports, a concerned resident went outside and checked the southern boundary of their property where they located an unresponsive male through a track road.
Upon arriving at the location, responding officers confirmed that an adult male was discovered in bushes at the rear of the property with multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical technicians also responded to this scene, examined the victim, and determined that he showed no signs of life.
Police are aggressively searching for the suspects who fled the area in a small dark-colored Japanese vehicle at a high rate of speed.

NEW PROVIDENCE & GRAND BAHAMA:OPERATION YIELDS POSITIVE RESULTS On Wednesday 17th January, 2024, between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., officers from the Tourism Police Division conducted road checks in the vicinity of Elizabeth Avenue and Marlborough Street.
During the checks, fourteen (14) drivers were issued citations for various traffic infractions, thirty- five (35) name checks were performed, and twenty-two vehicles were inspected.
In addition, police in Grand Bahama issued citations to fifty-two (52) drivers for various traffic infractions including driving in excess of the speed limit during its road checks, held between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. These speed checks took place in the vicinity of West Atlantic Drive and Grand Bahama Highway.
Police are encouraging the motoring public to comply with the rules and regulations outlined in the Road Traffic Act as failing to do so, will result in persons being cited.
