NEW PROVIDENCE

POLICE INVESTIGATE DOUBLE SHOOTING

Police are actively searching for the occupants of a silver Japanese vehicle responsible for robbing and shooting two males at a business establishment in the Palmdale area.

Preliminary reports indicate that at around 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, two security officers from a private firm who were in possession of two deposit bags were preparing to enter a banking institution to make a deposit when a small Japanese vehicle approached.

One male, armed with a handgun, reportedly exited the vehicle and demanded cash. The security officers made an attempt to enter another establishment for refuge, but the assailant discharged gunshots at them, wounding both men and robbing them of one deposit bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash.

The first victim, aged 59, sustained gunshot wounds to his upper torso, while the second victim, aged 29, sustained a gunshot wound to his lower back.

EMS personnel transported both victims to the hospital, where, at present, they are receiving urgent medical care.

ADULT MALE HOSPITALIZED FOLLOWING INDUSTRIAL INCIDENT

A 55-year-old male is currently receiving medical attention at the hospital following an incident at a power plant in Freeport, Grand Bahama.

The incident took place on Peel Street around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21st, 2024.

Based on initial reports, the male worker came into contact with a live wire while carrying out his duties which resulted in him receiving an electric shock and sustaining burns to his upper body.

EMS personnel arrived at the scene and transported the victim to the hospital, where his condition remains stable.
