OPERATION EAGLE CLAW: SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR FIREARM POSSESSION

A 26-year-old male was arrested by police on Thursday 16th May, 2024, following a firearm seizure at a home situated in Elizabeth Estates.

According to reports, around 2:45 p.m., a team of officers from Operation Eagle Claw, with the support of the K-9 Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on Commonwealth Boulevard, resulting in the discovery of a firearm and a quantity of ammunition, as well as the arrest of the lone male occupant.

Investigations are ongoing by the Anti-Gang & Firearms Investigation Task Force.

POLICE INVESTIGATE LATEST SHOOTINGS

Police are investigating two (2) separate shooting incidents that occurred around 9:00 p.m. on Thursday 16th May, 2024 resulting in four (4) adult males being hospitalized.

In the first incident police were alerted via its Shot Spotter technology of gunshots emanating in the area of Pinewood Gardens. Responding officers arrived on Sapodilla Boulevard and intercepted a pink Japanese vehicle with the occupants suffering from gunshot injuries en route to the hospital.

Based on preliminary information, the victims were on the outside of a residence on Sapodilla Boulevard when the occupants of a white Japanese vehicle drove past and discharged multiple gunshots at them. As a result, the first victim, aged 35, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his upper and lower extremities, while the second victim, aged 28, was shot in the upper extremity.

Presently, both victims, are in stable condition.

The second incident occurred at Fish Fry-Western Esplanade, located on West Bay Street.

Preliminary reports indicate that the occupants of a burgundy-colored Japanese vehicle arrived at a business establishment situated at the rear of Fish Fry. Two males reportedly exited the vehicle and fired gunshots towards a group of persons outside, which led to two (2) persons being shot.

The first victim, a 35-year-old male, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body, while the second victim, a 21-year-old male, sustained a gunshot wound to his lower body. Both victims received medical attention at the hospital and are currently in stable condition.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have information that can advance these matters to contact 911, 919, or the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991. Furthermore, anonymous tips are also welcome through CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477).

POLICE SEEK HELP IN LOCATING DRIVER RESPONSIBLE FOR HIT & RUN

Police are requesting the public’s help in locating the driver of a silver/blue Japanese model vehicle responsible for fatally killing a 29-year-old male during a traffic accident that occurred shortly after 4:00 a.m. on Saturday 11th May, 2024.

Additional inquiries made by officers from the Traffic Division uncovered that the vehicle in question, was traveling east on Poinciana Avenue when the driver collided with the deceased, who was operating a blue and white Yamaha motorcycle that was traveling south on Market Street.

The driver fled the scene; however, the vehicle has extensive damage to the left front cabin, including the roof and the left side door.

Police are urging members of the public who may have information about the driver and vehicle involved in this fatal hit-and-run accident to contact the Traffic Division at 397-8050, 393-7713, or visit the nearest police station. Anonymous tips are also welcomed through CRIME STOPPERS at 328-8477.
