NEW PROVIDENCE
7 WEAPONS AND MORE THAN 170 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION SEIZED BY POLICE
The Royal Bahamas Police Force's strong commitment to removing weapons from the streets has led to the successful recovery of five (5) pistols, two (2)shotguns, and over one hundred and seventy (170) rounds of ammunition.
The confiscated firearms and ammunition were successfully retrieved by officers from the Eleuthera Division, Operation Cease Fire, inclusive of officers from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, Fox Hill and Cable Beach Divisions between the 8th and 14th of January 2024.
Eight adult males have been formally charged by the Anti-Gang and Firearm Investigation Task Force with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and Ammunition.
The Royal Bahamas Police Force remains committed to the ongoing efforts of crime reduction and creating safer communities.
NORTHERN BAHAMAS
GRAND BAHAMA: OPERATION YIELDS POSITIVE RESULTS On Sunday 14th January, 2024, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., the police in Grand Bahama conducted a speed check in the vicinity of West Atlantic Drive and West Sunrise Highway.
During this time, thirty (30) drivers were issued citations for various traffic infractions and excessive speed, six (6) name checks were performed, and one (1) individual was arrested in connection with two outstanding traffic warrants.
Police are encouraging the motoring public to comply with the rules and regulations outlined in the Road Traffic Act.
