NEW PROVIDENCE
AN ADULT MALE ARRESTED & FIREARM SEIZED A 44-year-old male was apprehended by officers from Operation Ceasefire, inclusive of officers from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, following the seizure of a firearm on Saturday 13th January, 2024.
Preliminary reports indicate that shortly after 3:00 p.m. officers acting on intelligence proceeded to a residence on Bell Road, Montel Heights where they observed two men, who fled upon seeing them. A pursuit ensued, and one of the males was observed discarding a firearm. He was apprehended and escorted back to the location where officers discovered the handgun that was discarded.
Investigations are ongoing into this matter.

EXUMA: SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR DANGEROUS DRUGS Exuma police arrested a 51-year-old male after he was found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana valued at $2,000.00.
Initial reports confirmed that the arrest was made at a rental property in George Town, Exuma, shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12th , 2024.
Investigations continue.
