NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE RECOVER VEHICLE TAKEN IN ARMED ROBBERY
Officers from Operation Ceasefire, inclusive of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, recovered a stolen blue Nissan Bluebird L/P #AC0742 in the Montrose Avenue area on Sunday, May 12, 2024.
According to initial reports, four (4) unknown males approached the victim in the Mount Royal Avenue area around midnight. It is reported that one of them brandished a firearm and robbed him of his vehicle before they all fled the area in the stolen vehicle.
Following the incident, Ceasefire officers made a check of the surrounding area and discovered the vehicle was abandoned on Montrose Avenue.
Police are actively searching for four (4) male suspects responsible for this latest armed robbery and urge anyone with information regarding the suspects' whereabouts to contact 911, 919, or the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991. Anonymous tips are also welcomed through CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477).
ADULT MALE ARRESTED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT
A 36-year-old man is in police custody regarding the sexual assault of a teenage girl that occurred on Sunday 12th May, 2024 at a home on Third Street, The Grove.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. and involved an adult male who is known to the teen girl.
The Criminal Investigation Department will continue investigations into this incident.
